Project Summary

The project is connecting two educational institutions with similar profiles and with the similar pedagogical qualification of their graduates. Both schools have the vision to develop a strategic partnership with the common goal to improve the quality of their educational programmes.

The partner institutions, the Bundesbildungsanstalt für Elementarpädagogik Mureck (College for the training of nursery teachers), Austria and the I. Německé zemské gymnasium Brno, Czech Republic and its department, the Nursery college strive to encourage the personal development of the pupils, broaden their professional, cultural and social horizons and promote the professional exchange among the teachers of the participating institutions.

The project´s goals include the support of the pupils in the acquisition and development of their skills and competences. Furthermore, the language skills of both pupils and teachers, as well as their pedagogical and professional skills and competences will be enhanced.

There will be 20 pupils and three teachers of each school as well as the supporting organizational teams directly participating in the project. The pupils will be working on a topic project covering each school year of the partnership. The first topic is dealing with the school systems of the participating countries and the second one with the pre-school education. The pupils will be working together throughout the school year on this project, collaborating via the eTwinning platform, researching about the topic in the workshops and writing a pre-scientific paper on this topic that will be presented at the end of each school year. Besides the work on the topical projects, the pupils will be participating in excursions and social activities promoting the development of their personal relations and enhancing their knowledge about the partner countries and regions.

Aside from the pupils, three teachers of each school will be participating in the best practice exchange project. The teachers will be working on issues and topics relevant for them and their schools´ development, among other things comparing the structure of the educational programs and especially of the vocational training in their institution. The teachers will be participating on both eTwinning, as well as real-life meetings, exchanging their knowledge and experiences. The project is structured in a way enabling the participating teachers to operate as multiplicators of the gained knowledge and to spread the results of the cooperation in their respective schools.

The long-term benefits of the project are the personal and professional development of the pupils, their enhanced social and professional skills, as well as the priceless experience gained through the project. Furthermore, the cooperation and best practice exchange of the teachers will have positive impact on the qualification of the staff in the institutions, consequently improving the quality of both schools.
