Project Summary
The Erasmus plus project called Future child, the green kindergartens is a partnership for school exchanges and includes five partner organizations from three countries. The Slovenian partners are Modra pikica, a private Montessori kindergarten which is a coordinator, the Galjevica kindergarten(Vrtec Galjevica), a public kindergarten, a forest kindergarten Jelinek ((Lesní mateřská škola Jelínek) from the Czech Republic and two smaller Norwegian public kindergartens Linerla kindergarten (Linerla barnegage) in Skårungen kindergarten (Skårungen barnehage).
Objectives according to the goals of the project are: raising the quality of pre-school education, since the project involves only kindergartens and the strengthening of the quality of the teaching profession. The topic of the project is an education for sustainable development. The analysis of needs in the participating organizations has shown that kindergartens in this field need more systemic support, which we will also point out in the project. In the two years of the project we planned: the 3 activities of Learning, teaching, and training, exchanging examples of good practice, upgrading theoretical knowledge of participants, bring sustainable development closer to parents, children, the wider professional and other public. The topic of sustainable development is wider than our understanding of it, so we will contribute to a wider view of the field on the level of kindergartens. The objectives of the project are to acquire practical knowledge, new theoretical knowledge, exchange of experience, new management skills for organizations which are new in this Erasmus plus action and raise the quality of leadership with a help of experienced Slovenian partner organizations. We plan 3 Activities of learning, teaching, and training, in the Czech Republic, Norway, and Slovenia. The program of activities includes the introduction of forest pedagogy, Montessori pedagogy, outdoor pedagogy and other topics of sustainable development. On each activity, there will be some central topic that we have selected according to the expertise of the host organizations. The project includes teachers and other professional staff of the kindergarten. Participants are mainly small kindergartens, we included two kindergartens from Norway and two from Slovenia to ensure the achievement of the goals of the project and diversity of approaches. Mobility will involve up to 3 people from small kindergartens because two partners are preparing one Learning, teaching, training activity. So we overcame the challenge that we have three partner organizations of novices. The participants in the project will also be parents and children who are involved in Learning, teaching and training activities. In addition to international activities, we are also preparing activities in between mobilities, we selected at least one of the key activity for each month of the project: we are constantly evaluating the project, producing the results: movies, posters for children, calendar, all the time we disseminate the project, the central events will be Open Days and International final conference in Slovenia.During a life of a project, it will be managed in a precise way, and the support will be provided to the kindergarten novices by Slovenian partners. The contents of the project are intertwined with management activities: preparation of participants, documentation, preparation of reports, financial management, pedagogical guidance, dissemination, and evaluation.
When exchanging good practices and with other activities, we expect the impact on participants, their professional and personal growth, and better competences in the field of management and education for sustainable development. We also plan a long-term benefit, since we will upgrade the project into a new strategic partnership. The added value will be a use all materials and gained in the project. The two-year project of three countries is a step towards the researching of education for sustainable development at the kindergarten level. Our goal is to become aware of the complexity of the topic and to upgrade it at the system level and with the help of national policies in future projects and other collaborations.
