Project Summary

The present project is about a German-French-Italian-Croatian cooperation in the fields of civil engineering, architecture and design with a focus on the architecture of bridges. After a successful cooperation of German and French schools in the field of architectural history, we would like to extend this European project work and analyse bridges under constructional, architectural and design aspects. Finally, the findings of the analyses of existing bridges are to be used to develop an own design of a bridge and to reconstruct it as a true-to-scale model in order to be able to understand and correctly assess the technical characteristics of these structures. Another important aspect of the present project concept is the promotion of intercultural competence, which leads to the reduction of possible reservations or inhibitions, because in a united Europe it is essential that citizens approach the European partners openly and with interest.
