Project Summary
One of the most important problems of the 21st century is “bullying”. Even though we live in a modern time, and everything has changed and improved very much for our lives, something hasn’t changed like bullying. Unfortunately, it is difficult to claim that bullying isn’t part of our modern world any more. It is possible to see cases of bullying in every region of the world. Today “bullying” is a fact that occurs in different forms and places . It affects people’s lifespan such as their daily, educational, social lives and their health conditions physically and psychologically. That is the main reason why bullying should be handled.
Another fundamental point of the project is to gain social and cultural awareness and change students’ behavior towards bullying and have an active and effective role in decreasing, preventing and disappearing bullying. The other aim of this project is to decrease and prevent bullying in schools .So, the students’ future will not be affected negatively because of bullying. The training and the activities that will be done in running of the project with the participation of the partners. So, six schools from Estonia, Poland, Romania, Lithuania and Turkey are involved in this project to share their knowledge, experiences and implementations applied in their education systems and schools.
This project has identified six areas where additional effort at EU level could stimulate long-term growth and jobs in preventing “bullying” at the schools and its environments , in line with the priorities of the Europe Commission .Through implementing project tasks and events and realizing transnational meetings will emerge increasing awareness of the bullying and its types in our schools and their environments.
We have chosen our partners because they have the same needs. We all point out the importance of the personal consciousness towards bullying of our students. Due to subject priority we think that schools have a lot to do with it.The first contacts with most of the partners were established via E-Twinning. However the most important criterion in choosing them was our common interest in the topic of the project.
The participants of the project will use common eTwinning, twinspace and blog pages that will be managed commonly by each partner school and other online platforms and so ICT skills of both pupils and teachers will be improved. We will use eTwinnig platform because it enables the students free and suitable learning environment by interacting with different students from different cultures. The reason of using social media and the blog pages is to provide the parents and local participants follow the improvements about project’s subject.
Throughout the project,it will be six mobility.Three of the mobility will be short term joint staff training and the others will be short-term exchanges of groups of pupils training. Thanks to these training, 150 pupils and teachers will learn different techniques and implementations that they will be able to apply in their schools, new points of views and participants will develop their communication and collaborative skills, digital skills and cultural awareness. In six training activities, we will focus on five key aspects- bullying, physical bullying, verbal bullying, cyber bullying, emotional bullying-parents training that constitute this project’s structure at the same time.
The main participants of the project are students, the teachers and parents. The students will be at the core of the project and the the teachers will be responsible for guiding and moderating the pupils throughout the project duration. For that reason, in the implementation of the project, we will use project – based and student – centered approach.
When this project ends, with the learning outcomes achieved through the training, activities, seminar and tasks will be more informed individuals about bullying in addition to improve their cultural and social interactions.Participant schools aren’t the only component of this project. With the dissemination activities , parents, staff,, school and the other schools will realize the significance of bullying and the ways to solve this problem.
Leaflets, magazines or gazettes will be prepared to share project activities such as project achievements, training, meetings, and common outputs that show how effective cultural awareness of people’s lives is to be learned. These documents will be distributed throughout the city to other schools and institutions.
To disseminate our project’s results, each meeting’s final outcome will be reported and shared on schools’ webpages, eTwinning/ Twinspace and online platforms of the project. Moreover, the results of each meeting will be publicized locally (in the local press) and at the partner schools with bulletin boards and exhibitions.
