Project Summary

GLOBALAB IN Action! is the follow-up project on 2 previous initiatives with the same title involving 7 partners from Europe and Africa: Lithuania, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. It aims to foster quality improvements in youth work in order to broaden active participation of young people in project partner countries and empower them to take action towards meeting the targets of the SDG agenda. The objectives of the project:1. Strengthen North-South cooperation and create conditions for cooperation and exchange of good practices as well as bringing a global perspective into youth work activities in partner countries;2. Build the capacity of youth workers so that they are able to become the supporters of young people in the action process;3. Transfer and pilot good practices of youth empowerment and the development and implementation of actions and campaigns related to SDGs.The project will directly target 70 youth workers and 175 young people in partner countries and engage them in a set of activities that will help strengthening their role in meeting the target of the SDG agenda. The following activities will be implemented:- Kick-off partner meeting;- International seminar for sharing core principles, strategies, tools and techniques for the development and implementation of quality actions and campaigns that tackle the issues related to the SDG agenda;- International training course for developing the competencies of youth workers in applying different tools and techniques for empowering young people and engaging them into action and/or campaign;- A set of job shadowing activities of the youth workers during which they will have the possibility to test different tools and techniques for the development and implementation of the actions together with young people at the local level;- development of a publication that will summarise and present principles, tools, strategies and techniques of how to mobilize young people and engage them in action/campaigning towards the SDGs;- Local actions where young people in all partner countries will participate in a process of initiating, planning and implementing actions/campaigns related to SDGs at local level;- Youth exchange which will be meant for building the common understanding on global issues and the fundamental values of global citizenship and sharing the outcomes of the local actions implemented by the youngsters. The project will provide the opportunities for youth workers to gain new experience, strengthen their professional competences and commitment towards making young people active contributors to the SDG agenda.
