Project Summary
This project “Green attitude: let’s become responsible eco-citizens” focuses on environmental issues and on how to empower tomorrow’s adults and decision-makers.
Our planet is sick, so we must react by developing green strategies through environmental challenges. Therefore we have decided to launch a project for students aged 14 to 18 who will decide the fate and future of the Earth.
The 5 schools involved in this project are located in Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Portugal and France. They are general and vocational secondary schools, some of them are located in rural areas, others in urban areas, which offers a range of different current environmental situations.
Pupils are invited to work in teams in their home countries and to present the results in French during short-term pupil group exchanges in the different countries. During these 5 mobilities, students also work in mixed teams. Throughout the duration of the project, teachers act as guides to make sure the pupils learn to work independently and that they are aware of their own responsibility in the project.
Pupils carry out the following activities:
– the pupils participating to the project will create a logo which will be used on all our publications,
– making videos about our respective cities and high schools, to get to know each other better,
– participation to environmental and economic workshops (in each school),
– visiting community gardens or associations promoting urban agriculture,
– presenting local environmental challenges to the project partners,
– forging links with local companies or associations that contribute to environmental protection,
– visiting eco-neighbourhoods and organic farms during mobilities,
– the drafting of a Charter of European eco-citizens responsible for the environment
– collaborative work on the European educational platform Twinspace, in each partner school.
The goal of this project is to develop a “green” attitude for our pupils. We want them to understand and take up environmental issues. As they get to know each other and discover the different places they live in, we want them to become more open-minded and combative. Mobility will both allow the exchange of good practices and their application for students with the guidance of their teachers.
The long-term advantage for each individual is that they will become true “eco-citizens”!
