Project Summary

In this project, we would like to link our cooperation of (over) 10 years, to European themes such as language, citizenchip, environment and sustainability. Linguistic and cultural purpose: getting pupils to think about and discuss good citizinship and sustainability. Museum visits and workshops around the same themes will be part of the project.
Participants are 25 pupils (15-16 years old, most of them in class 4vwo) of Hervormd Lyceum Zuid, from Amsterdam and 25 pupils (same age group) of Lycée Jeanne d’Arc from Rouen, France.
The french and dutch teachers work closely together to prepare their pupils for the exchange weeks. Initial contact will me made through eTwinning.The activities during the exchange are selected to fit the themes of the project and the pupils interests.
Thanks to their participations at this project, the pupils are leaning on a linguistic, cultural and social level. Tohether, they become aware of what it means to be a European citizen, and its sustainable and environmental aspects : Green Citizenship.
The schools get advice from the pupils to become more sustainable and ecological.
For a week, the dutch students are immersed in the French language. Partly also thanks to specific linguistic assignments, and to the welcoming reception by the French families, all of this combined means a special and succesfull learning experience our students will never forget.
