Project Summary
Greenprod is an exchange of good practices about Sustainability, particularly in Chemistry. We are three different schools in Turkey, Italy and France that want to change or ameliorate practices in labworks and teaching about sustainability.
Each school will contribute to the project with its own practices and approaches about sustainable development.
In our schools, the labworks have to be updated with new approaches to be in phase with the goal of the sustainable development of the European Union : «Sustainable development in the European Union — Monitoring report on progress towards the SDGs in an EU context – 2018 edition». In this report, there are two objectives on which we want to be focused : ODD4, “Quality Education for All” and ODD12, “Responsible consumption and production”.
In our three schools, we have some students economically disadvantaged and their participation in this project is a priority. It could stimulate and help them to succeed in their studies.
About 80 students and 15 teachers will be involved directly or through the different activities of the greenprod project.
We want to exchange pratices and allowing our students to access to facilities of our three schools. We have choosen the “sustainable development soap”, as a common topic for the three schools.
The turkish partner school already provides a lot of interesting experiences about sustainable development. This school is connected with a rural environment which is interesting for the other partners, to collect some plants for a use in new labworks about soap. This school is close to IDA mountain which has a unique flora and fauna. It is under the influence of two different climates and it makes this place rich in flora and fauna. We want to organize visits to this area in different times of the year and collect plants to use in our laboratory works.
The italian partner school had activated in recent years various activities on environmental sustainability : scientific and technological development in connection with human history and sustainability. It has experimented practices in protection of biodiversity, waste management, fight against pollution, production of renewable energy, food sovereignty, water and resource management; all linked with active citizenship. Italian Partner has already managed european projects around sustainability.
The french school wants to update education, particularly labworks in a sustainable development way. The French partner wants also to open up its ultramodern platform of engineering processes in international collaboration. It’s also experienced with mini company managed by pupils around making and selling products respectful of environment (soap, honey, candles).
The three schools have various practices and we would like to pool our ressources to develop some new practices to encourage our pupils and colleague to change, to reflect and adopt practices more respectful of resources and environment.
This project will support 7 objectives :
1) Motivating and remotivating pupils, particularly those in academic and social difficulties around a citizen and innovative project
2) Transmiting to pupils new knowledges and skills linked with sustainable development.
3) Awarding Europass to pupils and colleague to enhance their investment in the project and to excel their social skills.
4) Helping pupils become involved, promoters and responsibles in sustainable dévelopment approaches.
5) Raising awereness colleagues (teachers, technicians et other staff working in our schools) in educational and citizen practices in sustainable development.
6) Communicating about our project and involving external entities (primary school, companies, universities).
7) Sharing between our schools experiments and pedagogical practices of sustainable dévelopment.Europass to pupils and colleague to enhance their investment in the project and to excel their social skills.
This project is the basis of a new collaboration between three differents schools. By starting this exchange of good practices, we want to develop a great deal of thought to ameliorate knowledge about sustainability and innovate in this field.
A greater project on innovation is planned after this initial experience to continue our collaboration.
