Project Summary
IIS Via Copernico is one of the largest schools of non-profit education in Pomezia that offers three courses of study: Technical course of Technology, High School Scientific-option applied sciences and Economical Technical Course. Our school is an innovative and inclusive school, with innovated school service, modular and multifunctional spaces for experiential learning that evolves into a society of knowledge.
The objective of this transnational strategic partnership is to support initiatives addressing the technological fields of education training and youth and promote innovation, exchange of experience and know-how between the different types of schools involved in education, develop the open education of students, innovative practice, improving all the skills required in this digital age: learn how to use digital technologies as an aid for active citizenship and social inclusion, collaboration with others and creativity in achieving personal, social or commercial objectives.
Our 21st century skills include learning skills (Communication, Creative Thinking, Collaboration, Critical Thinking), literacy skills (Information, Media and Technology Literacy) and life skills (Social Abilities, Efficiency, Flexibility, Initiative, Leadership), and the proposed activities include research work, their analysis and presentations, seminars and work-shops with exercises where students will develop these skills to improve opportunities for employability and be competent to face the changes in employment trends that will arise in the future.
Working all together we learn to overcome differencies, improve the language and face cultural diversity as our resource and that to cross the “borders” of someone country is a challenge for everyone.
The partnership provides collaboration for 24 months between the staff of Italy, Romania and two schools coming from Greece. All the participants work in team and they are well skilled, experienced and very involved. Our work is focused not only on teaching but also on encouragement, motivation and realising how important is innovative practice in digital era and to cooperate each other.
Each partner equally participate in achieving the proposed activities as they share similar issues and needs among the interaction with students in general and in the teachers’ attempt to help students coming from unprivileged environments with fewer opportunities. Each partner country brings an essential added value to the project working together and exchanging best-practices and knowledge on effective ways to implement the know-how of the other participants.
The activities include research work and their analysis and presentations, seminars and workshops with exercises where students develop skills that are required to improve their employability and be competent to face the changes in employment trends that will arise in the future to apply the gained knowledge and experience in exercises related to real-life opportunities for future study and employment. Meetings include the planning, determination and development of dissemination and implementation of the project. Activities can be carried out in one’s own school (research, laboratory activities, field work).
Results: research, analysis, workshops with students and staff’s exercises, conference. Decrease of disparities in the use of digital technologies in education.
Impact: measuring the impact of the project using platforms, such as SELFIE, mini-web surveys, pre-and post-participation questionnaires for the use of digital. Feedback from participants trought Interviews and focus groups, to show the performance and their potential to develop an even more ambitious future to work remotely with partners through the exchange of material and at the local community level (lectures, demonstrations, presentations and seminars).
Potential longer term benefits:
Participating in an Erasmus project and being part of a partnership is an added value that enables international cooperation to be achieved. The activities carried out within the framework of Erasmus + are integrated into the normal scholastic activity for each partner and shared with the collegiate organs and carried forward during the curricular activities. Objectives and the results envisaged by the project must be in synergy with the our school’s PTOF, PNSD and the recommendations of the European Council on Digital competences for lifelong learning, and to the Self-Assessment Report and the School Improvement Plan.
Strengthening cooperation and networking between schools implementing innovative practices in the field of education, exchanging experiences and good practice
Mobility with Partner Countries enhances the opportunities for cooperation and to cross the “borders” of someone country is a a challenge for students, teachers and all the people involved in the school.
