Project Summary

There are limited educational programs in Georgia that provide youth with enough tools to effectively and creatively progress in this rapidly changing world, and Georgian public education does not currently provide many activities that encourage practical application of team work, civic education, science or environmental stewardship.With the Capacity Building Project “Growing Leaders, Growing Change: Green City Youth” we want to exchange good practices, support networking among Environmental organisations from Georgia, Latvia, Germany and Sweden and to encourage active participation of the 14 young Kvemo Kartli region leaders.The project consists of several interrelated parts: Contact making seminar with mentor and leadership training elements, Pre-departure training, job shadowing, local community projects, evaluation seminar and visibility.This project will contribute greatly for vitalising support network of European environmental organisations and as a networking platform for co-minded initiatives. Interactive map of environmental initiatives which will be created and initially updated by participants (based on their projects and initiatives), will be one of tools how to be in touch with each other after the project and explore new cooperation possibilities.
