Project Summary

We aimed to discover THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE: BODY LANGUAGE by DISPLAYING PUPILS’ HANDS İN HANDS PERFORMANCES in the six participating European schools. Pupils got SOCIALIZE with each other by performing their own display and teaching some simple dances or kid games to other pupils of partner countries. Pupils, while exercising together regularly at schools, building figures and acting out the performances, learnt how to COOPERATE with schoolmates and other students from different languages. The point was that they would recognize using the same language was not fundamental to learn or teach some activities and they would discover their own miracle that they all could speak the language of the universe: BODY LANGUAGE. The partnerships saw the reason why the children played hands in hands was that the INNOCENCE of their inner world. Physical performances showed the PEACE IN THE WORLD by touching eachother politely and holding hands. This PHYSICAL CONTACT bound not only the pupils’ hands but also the cultures of the six countries. This contact, despite of seeming like only a physical activity at first, would be the SYMBOL OF PURITY setting their heart on each other. The cooperation between the six European schools contributed to INTEGRATION among European societies, each facing its respective political, economical and social challenges. The two-year cooperation gave students the chance to adopt an OPEN VIEW TOWARDS DIFFERENT CULTURES by cooperating with each other in the project and staying abroad with partner school families. They saw and experienced each other’s daily life and understood one another better. From the beginning during the creative phase they had CLOSE CONTACT with each other via blogs and chats in order to build a common play.Through games and plays we learnt from each other and also about our cultures, SIMILARITIES and DIFFERENCES between us. By taking part in the common project pupils got the feeling of being part of a single ENTITY and adopted a COMMON ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE regardless of their geographical remoteness. The project aimed at STIMULATING PUPILS’ CREATIVITY in the six participating European schools. Pupils, while working together online and in the workshops for the writing and the production of the film, learnt how to write a script, interviewed people adapt this to a script , made music, created a set, built figures and acted out the script with clay models. The project was about the simple street or home plays and games which students had in the past such as blind man’s buff, leapfrog, tag plays, hopscotch, tissue puss, hide and seek, chess, backgammon, checkers, simple folk dances and more we haven’t known yet.All beneficiaries participated these kind of games actively and learnt English effectively . Our aim was to make students speak English using their hands and mimes and to force them to speak the language. It was through plays and games that were played by hands, mimes in pairs. On the other hand, this project also addressed to the students with special needs. They attended special classes and guests witnessed different kinds of teaching techniques. This project aimed to help those students feel precious and a part of society. With these lessons special needed students felt being a part of society and break the ice.
