Project Summary
All partner schools in this project gathered together in order to resolve common problems such as enhancing students educational results and encouraging them to follow school courses. We are all working with disadvantaged students (migrant/refugees, national minorities, economical and social disadvantages) and some of of our schools are situated in poor regions of our countries. We all asked ourselves “How children become happier in their education life?” We aim to eliminate problems such as familial, environmental, and psychological factors, ensure that children acquire positive personality skills, develop social dialogue skills, raise self-esteem and self-confidence.
Long-term impact and results that we expect our students to change and develop on the positive sides are positive emotional development of children towards the school, getting pleasure from the time spent at school, find opportunities to get to know themselves, increase of self-confidence and prevent early school leaving.
Teachers will become more professional in dealing with child problems, new teaching-learning approaches will be based on curriculum programes to be created after that.
We will involve all students of our schools in local project activities. Each school will involve 6 students accompanied by 2 teachers during each pupils exchanges in partner schools. The selected students and teachers to participate at pupils exchanges are among those who belong the the disadvantaged categories as mentioned in our application form: migrant/refugees, national minorities, economical and social disadvantages.
As indirect beneficiaries of our project will be students’ families and local partners to whom we will disseminate project information and products and which will be actively involved in project activities such as music, dance and drama performances of our students. Students will spread cultural information within their families and local communities as well.
We will carry educational activities to increase our pupils motivation to follow school courses and making them happier in their every day school life.
We have determined the implementation and methods of working within our project:
We have planned the learning-teaching activities monthly. We have set the criteria for the selection of the students and teachers to participate in project activities. We will identify students who are subjected to the threats of school failure and early school leaving, willing to work, idealistic. We will involve teachers with good skills in the field of our project theme, and we will share tasks with each of these participants at every stage of the process.
We will include administrative staff, English, ICT teachers and classroom teachers as part of the project team. We will involve the school accountant in managing project budget. With the aim of reaching our project goals, we identified activities as organizing theater-drama activities, having movie time, organizing picnics, music-song contests and visual art exhibitions made up of student works, preparing recycling boxes, organizing sports activities and contests, organizing theater-drama activities. We have decided to co-ordinate all activities of the project partners within the same period under coordinator supervision. We will instantly display our implementation outputs on sharing portals like Etwinning, Facebook, Skype, Twitter and provide the interaction in this way. We will use Twinspace, contact lists (mail group) and WhatsApp for communication.
We will set criteria to see that our project reaches its goal and we will apply attitude scales and satisfaction surveys to these criteria.
We will organize seminars at local, regional and national levels to disseminate our project and bring it to other institutions. By inviting local and national mass media, we will be able make our project known to a wider community. We will ultimately influence the policies of education at local and regional level and prepare the ground for the creation of new curriculum programes based on project theme together with innovative and intercultural educational activities thus increasing our pupils interest towards school courses and their educational performances.
