Project Summary

PROJECT SUMMARY – HEALTH PROMOTING SCHOOLS
This project motivates youth and create more healthy lifestyles and attitudes to a healthier life, private as well as in their career. As a part of the priorities we organize activities which make youth more conscious about a healthy lifestyle. We use a basic principle to gain more learning outcome and will increase personal progress and growth using the added values:
1. create knowledge formal-informal value
2. perform better and obtain better grades
3. consciousness about lifestyle and health
4. Impact on the individuals, both at school and outside school
5. Better learning, focus on didactics, learning methods
6. Better feeling of wellbeing, mastering
7. Greater social inclusion
8. Decreased number of drop outs.
The priority is to work with the latest living trends of young people into youth work education and practice. In our design we chose to work practically and we aim for a long-term objective effect. The relevance is connected to 5 expert areas where each partner-school is responsible for one of them. Italy-nutrition, Norway-Mental health, The Netherlands-Physical healthMobility, Poland-Didacticsresearchlearning methods, Spain-Learning outcomesMasteringself-esteem.
We use innovative methods to develop key and other competences: (Ref: List of competences EU CommissionArnfinn)
We make students more equipped as potential future citizens and employees. We use intensive international cooperation of teachers and students in different areas: research, developing, writing, design, publishing, dissemination.
We will use the Maslow theory as a fundament of making the students creative and daring to challenge their proximal zone – to advance, to master and to achieve self-actualization. (ref: Link)
As European citizens we have many mutual goals and ideals about health. We share educational priorities which have an impact on our way of forming this project “Health Promoting Schools” which emphasizessupports the network of health promoting schools exchanging relevant educational experiences and information. The aims are to provide health-promoting environments, encourage healthy lifestyles and create new attitudes.
The students work in international groups to research this topic, despite their cultural differences. They collaborate and build together an understanding of “Health and to stick together facing the problems, to fight for a better more healthy future.
We use lectures, workshops, research, didactics and learning methodology and strategies, creating a project where students face European problems and find measures to fight. Our goal is to give the students ownership and to inspire them to be highly committed to the content of the project. All the priorities included, are part of all the activities we do and in all the results we produce in our project. This inclusive education is to empower active citizenship and young people will be open to cross-border and sectorial cooperation.
SpecificConcrete results will be:
– a product of exhibition (final product) by each partner made by an international group of students
– knowledge of European and national cultural heritage, as regard health
– outlinesguidelines to a healthy lifestyle produced in mixed international groups
– presentations of research results:
– an exhibition showing results and outcomes of groupwork and research -technology and digital media
-better research skills
-use of and exploring of creative skills
-better debating skills.

The knowledge about health, will be achieved by research assignments, the students work in mixed international groups. Students become aware of their own cultural heritage and of the cultural heritage of their guests. With the international network and the international groupwork, research and workshops, the students learn how people of their own age think about the dangers Europe is facing and how these dangers can be solved according to the participating international students.

To be innovative in Our Project design we have decided to include an unexperienced School as regards our international network. Our intentions are to be more inclusive and to spread and disseminate to a larger extend.
