Project Summary
CONTEXT / BACKGROUND
Youth empowerment is a complex phenomenon that includes in itself aspects of various kinds and that involves not only the educational environment, but the entire social context.
During the adolescent and juvenile periods more generally, the person builds his own identity and identifies the roots that contextualize it, but often his socio-cultural background turns out to be medium-low, poor in stimuli and opportunities.
The inconstancy, the vivacity and the variability of the attitudes of today’s generation of young people can be correlated to their magmatic personality referable to the new paradigms of the times we live. The educational offer must therefore be based more and more on non-formal methods and tools to achieve success in any field of learning: general education, school, vocational training …
We therefore intended to propose a project in line with the political priorities of the program that favor youth empowerment focusing on History and Cultural Heritage in the perspective of European identity and values.
To do this we thought of using the Theatre as one of the most powerful tools to increase the specific interest of young people.
All activities and products will be carried out with a view to creating useful experiences and tools for youth workers who represent the key players in the process of empowering new and future generations.
PARTICIPANTS
Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish youth workers and youngsters.
ACTIVITY
– Production of tools and methods for non-formal learning of History and Cultural Heritage.
– Production of a show format.
– A report on the project.
– A documentary film on the project as a whole.
– Website and social pages.
– A blended transnational youth course in Portugal.
– Two workshops.
– Three multiplier events.
RESULTS
The main results we intend to obtain are:
an increase in skills by youth workers,
an increase in the number of courses that use non-formal methods in the education of youngsters, both, those organized by the partners, and those organized in the respective countries,
to make output and outcome European reference tools and practices in terms of characterization, value and usability.
IMPACT
In the medium term the youth workers will be led to apply in their working context the new acquired knowledge of a didactic-pedagogical, design and / or management order by applying the new methodologies learned.
Youngsters will see increased motivation and personal empowerment in the areas covered by the project.
