In summary our project is exciting, current and relative to local, national and worldwide priorities.
The objectives of our project are:
1.To strengthen teachers’ understanding of the UN Conventions of The Rights of the Child how these are used in different countries.
2.Demonstrate how Digital competence skills can enhance the rights of the child
3.Develop digital competence skills in order to enable children to understand their rights and stay safe online
There will be 12 participants involved in the travelling to visit other schools but the project will influence all stakeholders involved in each primary school.
The activities will include teacher training events including:
Embedding the UN rights of the child into the 21st century curriculum
How digital media supports children’s rights’ / ‘Digital media is a powerful way for children to realise their rights?
How the internet ,technologies and digital equipment prepare learners for like in the 21st century?
The importance of e safety to learners in the 21st century.
To ensure the smooth running of the project we will use baseline questionnaires, pupil voice and comparative data from beginning baseline to end.
We envisage that the results will be improved teacher understanding or the UNCRC and how this can be integrated into the curriculum. We also aim to develop children’s DCF skills in order to insure they are becoming digitally literate in the current ever changing society.
As a result of this the potential long-term benefits are that children will be confident to develop DCF skills in day-to-day practice. Children and stakeholders will have a sound understanding of the UNRC and this will be embedded into cross-curricular lessons.
There are close to 900 children that will benefit from the project activities, ranging in age from 1-14 years old. These children will engage in sessions planned as a result of this project.
children participating in the project activities, ranging from 1-14 years old, who will participate in regular outdoor learning as planned by teachers. Each countries curriculum
