Project Summary
The project, entitled: How many borders for migrants?, aims, through educational work, to allow a common cross-border reflection between two groups of high school students, French and Italian, on the theme of migrants and their reception in our countries. The objectives of this project are both linguistic and civic, as well as citizenship and cooperation education. The participants, aged around sixteen and studying the foreign language of reference for at least 4-5 years, will be chosen according to their motivation. The project provides for two weeks of exchange in both countries, far enough apart during the school year, to allow for correspondence and progress of the project in the middle. The methodology to guarantee the success of the project and that of constant follow-up by the reference teachers, but also to make the students autonomous and critical in their choices. The results should focus on common and shared knowledge of strategies to assist and welcome migrants in border regions, and they will be shared within the two educational communities, as well as in the two cities hosting the exchange. The media will cover the project and disseminate it regionally. In the long term, the project theme will continue to be addressed in class by the two referent teachers, and will be at the heart of other exchange and partnership projects.
