Project Summary
The project concentrates mainly on active citizenship, entrepreneurship and social inclusion. It gives an opportunity to implement ideas, create and use products during activities carried out in cooperation with the local communities. In other words the local communities are going to be involved in the activities. This idea is innovative and often perceived as difficult, or even too difficult, to put into practice. Through our project we would like to prove something opposite, that’s why the project title is „Impossible becomes possible – young entrepreneurs in action”. Even though the idea of the project is clearly specified, focusing on making its participants active and entrepreneurial citizens, during each meeting we will concentrate on an individual problem. While carrying out the tasks we are planning to create products showing clearly what we have done and being easy to use by other stakeholders. The issues to be dealt with by the project participants are:
– SMOG and environmental pollution,
– teenage depression,
– insufficient knowledge about one’s town/region/country or their heritage,
– decreased interest in high culture,
– negative impact of technological advancement.
We share the view that to be an active citizen and a successful entrepreneur as well as to improve one’s understanding of the complex world, one needs to be efficiently educated and guided so that they can be able to deal with obstacles in life. It is common knowledge that education is a lifelong process requiring high motivation and regular support. By choosing the topic of our project we aim to provide such motivation and support and ensure students have enough first-hand experience in creating things on their own, sharing their ideas with the wider public, cooperating with the local community and enjoying the sense of satisfaction with observing the result of their work. The project will help popularize the idea of social inclusion, making it possible for those privileged in life to put their ideas into practice, broaden their knowledge, become more open minded, make friends with peers from abroad and improve their language skills. Thanks to the use of technology we hope the created products and achieved results will make the participants be role models in promoting the idea of active citizenship and enterpreneurship.
Poland will be the coordinating country and act as a prompter and motivator ensuring the smooth cooperation and efficient communication. However, the tasks will also be distributed evenly among the other partners from Denmark, Greece, Italy and Spain. The students participating in the project are aged 15-18 and attend general secondary schools. There will be carried out a number of learning and teaching activities including five short-term meeting for students and teachers each lasting seven working days, and two transnational two-day meetings for teachers only.
The main objective of the project is to encourage students to be more active citizens capable of identifying surrounding problems and dealing with them effectively. This can be done by involving them in several tasks performed locally. Doing the tasks will require working in groups, creative thinking, doing research and making analyses. Consequently, the project participants will be more aware of what issues they need to deal with in future life and will help improve living and educational standards both in their schools and local communities. The project covers a wide range of areas such as ecology, health, career opportunities, economy, tourism, art, social problems. Its participants will expand the area of their action and go beyond the school borders providing the local community with ready solutions. The activities carried out during the project as well as its outcomes (products and results) will be sustainable and easy to access.
The level of achievement of the project objectives will be done through evaluation methods. The internal evaluation will be carried out by every school separately towards the target groups such as students, teachers, parents. Several methods will be used, e.g. questionnaires, formal feedback, informal feedback, regular SWOT boards. The evaluation forms stating the target groups, questions, ways of analysis will be decided on prior to and during the first transnational meeting and during the course of activities.
The participation will have a big impact on the development of the involved schools in the long-term, e.g. students and teachers’ improved skills and abilities, enriched curriculum, improved atmosphere motivating students to create the working environment where socializing plays an important role, broadened knowledge and awareness of different cultures,
A number of dissemination activities as well as well-planned evaluation methods will help us spread out the idea of the project to the wider public and make it a success
