Project Summary

Title: IN THE KING’S HEART
This project which is going to start in 2019 and finish in 2021, involves 3 schools: 2 Italian schools and a polish one. The aim of this project is to consider the cultural heritage in all its forms: material, immaterial and digital ones whereas it shows the cultural European diversity being the focal element of the intercultural dialogue.
The historical-cultural heritage tells stories and it has been changing ever and ever in order to reinforce the feeling to belong to an unique area where the past meets the future.
What character could be a symbol of a cultural osmosis between East and West with a long glance to an universal vision of brotherhood among people? The dream of Federico II was this one and this project, by retracing Federico’s steps, wants to support the training of the future citizens who will be capable to talk together, to understand each other, to accept others.
So the knowledge of historical sites will represent a way to go into the history and to become real active citizens into a large area as Europe is. Moreover, the project aims at bringing pupils to gradually learn the historical research method based on knowing the documents and consulting oral and written sources.
To make a hand-in-hand E-book by involving partners means to transfer this educational experience to a concrete “tool” of learning by doing.
The aims of this project may be listed as follows:
– to become aware of own identity in order to discover the cultural, religious, ethnic differences and to learn the first rules of social life;
– to direct pupils toward the historical research;
– to manage a cooperative work in group to give value to the competences of each “actor”.
Aim 1: to increase the basic skills
R1: lesson plan about local history in mother tongue and English (transmissive language);
R2: lesson plan about European history in mother tongue and English by using CLIL and ICT methods:
R3: to achieve a data base to collect research material.
Aim 2: to increase the historical competence
C1: training activities about historical research.
Aim 3: to increase creative and digital competences
R7: historical parade with travelling pictures about Federico’s life with old costumes;
R8: hand-in-hand E-book.
Aim 4: to increase pupils’motivation, participation and relationship
R 9: products made by pupils: posters, lapbook, digital products.
Moreover, the concrete results of this project will be the following:
– at least 45 teachers will receive training on the method of historical research;
– at least 45 teachers will increase their own knowledge and grow the history curriculum of their school;
– European schools will reinforce the capability to work together.
– The inclusive process of BES and DSA pupils will occur by involving them into the cooperative work.
The project has been written in Italian language because it has been presented to the Italian National Agency, however the partners bave collaborated in it by using English language which they will be using as working language. Moreover an English copy of this project has been sent to the Polish school.
