Project Summary
Being able to move is a main condition to gain social and professional integration in Europe. But this capacity requires learning, especially as digital technologies tend to replace information desks and telephone sets.
At present, however, there is no provision for structural training to ensure all citizens will acquire the skills needed to travel autonomously by choosing the most appropriate means of transport for each journey. As for driving training, they prove to be exclusive in two ways: their cost far exceeds the resources of unemployed people (even though the possession of a driver’s license is needed ton find a job) and their teaching methods are inadequate for people with illiteracy, lack of knowledge of national languages, weak qualifications or even self-esteem.
Thousands of low-skilled jobseekers are therefore caught in a vicious circle: because they cannot move easily, they failed to find a job, but without a job they can neither train nor acquire a vehicle. This entails two major risks: that of structural social exclusion and that of illegality.
The Mob’In project aims to correct this situation by laying the foundations of a training offer for mobility and driving adapted to the needs and resources of disadvantaged people. To achieve this ambitious goal, CAIPS federation (federation of social and professional integration operators), Mob’In France (network of mobility operators) and Ateliere Fara Frontiere (association that presides RISE Romania, first romanian network of social economy enterprises) have chosen to work in partnership for three years on the issue of Inclusive Mobility.
Their work will focus on the one hand, the development and animation of networks dedicated to Inclusive Mobility (in their three countries but also on a European scale), on the other hand the development of tools and training processes for mobility and driving adapted to disadvantaged people. To ensure the relevance of the tools and their rapid ownership on the ground, the three partner organizations will carry out this work hand in hand with adult schools already active in their respective territories, and disseminate the results and project productions on a European scale in formats easily transposable to other national realities.
