Project Summary
The project aims at exchanging good practices and creating a network between municipalities and no profit organisations on the theme of Inclusive participation.Inclusive participation concerns the participation of people with less opportunities.Project duration : 2 yearsThe direct targeted public are elected people, or staff in no profit organisations and local authorities working on citizenship participation.The indirect targeted public are the citizens, especially those who usually don’t participate.Background :Today, in most of the european countries, we observe :- A weakness of the results of the participative process implemented by the local authorities- A scepticism towards public authorities, both local, national or european- The participants are not representative of the “common” inhabitants : Very often they are comited citizens, political activist. Very few are people with less opportunities, or social problems.The reason of that could be the lack of interest of the citizens in public issues and local authorities. However, some municipalities implement successfull innovative tools.Issue :The project ‘s issue is to strenghten participation of the citizens with less opportunities, in order to make their voice heard, and/or act localy to improve standard of living together. It aims at capacity building and empowerment of people who usually don’t participate.Objectives :- To develop a cooperation between the partners on inclusive participation- To strengthen the skills of the people who work on citizenship participation projects.Activities :European meetings, learning mobilities, making a video, exchange of good practices and making of a compendium of them, assessment and dissemination of the project
