Project Summary

The proposed project aims at delivering innovation training content based on already established sustainable and long-term Strategic Partnership between national supervisory authorities, academia and civil society organisations. It ensures the delivery of knowledge and the development of skills related to privacy and personal data protection while reflecting new technologies with special attention to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). The project is first of its kind unifying Data Protection Authorities (DPAs), universities and civil society organisation from 4 (four) Programme countries as well as one Partner country – Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Portugal and Moldova. It is a cross-sectorial project targeting horizontal policy as personal data protection is. AI, IoT, smart home gadgets, etc. are not science fiction, they are present tense not only at home but also at work. New skills, abilities and knowledge are required. Innovative base of such capacity building is grounded on privacy and personal data protection reflection over these technological issues.

1. Overall objective: Promotion of innovative education and awareness in a field of modern high-tech challenges by privacy and personal data protection training content.
2. Specific objectives:
a. Supporting sustainable strategic partnership between data protection authorities, academics and the non-governmental sector in the EU in the field of AI and IoT through data protection learning and privacy awareness raising;
b. Elaboration of user-friendly innovative training content in the area of AI and IoT through data protection learning and privacy awareness raising;

O5: Code of IoT DPOs

7. The methodology of the project proposal will be based on the European values and good practices principles:
– Innovation;
– Inclusiveness;
– Lifelong learning;
– Gender equality;
– Partnership.
It will include consistent steps for elaboration, organisation, coordination, conduct, distribution, monitoring and controlling, and overall project assessment.

8. The overall expected impact on all target groups will be increased awareness on AI, IoT, privacy and personal data protection based on easily accessed non-formal digital learninng related to the topic for improving:
– their practical skills and knowledge on topics related to AI, IoT, privacy and personal data protection;
– their ability for finding information related to AI, IoT, privacy and personal data protection;
– their practical skills for protecting their personal data and advise in the areas of AI and IoT;
– their ability for summarizing and presenting information on AI and IoT from privacy and personal data protection point of view.
