Project Summary
• Context/background of the project;
The project was created because of the need legal framework, clear criteria and methodology and instruments for the work of school psychologists and pedagogical counselors. There was a lack of such functional structure created problems with communication between professionals in the field, problems with early school leaving and difficult diagnosis. Part of the work of school psychologists and school advisers is early diagnosis of social and behavioral disorders, because of those reasons the project was developed and conducted.
• Objectives;
The main objectives of the project were to prevent early school leaving, also to improve the quality and relevance of the services in the field of education with the help of innovative approaches. The project was oriented to promote equality, social inclusion and entrepreneurship education to improve employment and initiate business ventures. With all the activities the project was aimed to promote professional development of school psychologists and pedagogical counselors and to enhance their competences, which affected to the students.
• Number and profile of participating organisations;
The partner organizations were two, one from Greece, which name is Greek Bulgarian Association of Cultural “Paisiy Chilendarski” and one partner from Romania Association “Pakiv“. The Greek partner organization is a Sunday school located in Athens and its activity is education on Bulgarian language, history and geography for Bulgarian citizens, living in Greece. The Romanian partner organization is a non-profit organization, which is aimed in social inclusion and battling the discrimination based on ethnicity.
• Description of undertaken main activities;
The main activities were the project management and implementation, which meant planning, monitoring, controlling and dividing responsibilities, also the activity of transitional project meeting which was for discussing project goals, activities, and problems along the way. Other activity was every organization to create an intellectual output or reports and researches for its own country practices, politics in the field of school psychologists and councilors, also to develop a questionnaire and a survey. Manuals, guidelines and methodologies were created to improve the work of school psychologist and pedagogical councilors as part of this activity, as well as conducting Multiplier events which were training, seminars for sharing the project’s results and products.
• Results and impact attained
Attained results were the created manuals, researches and methodologies which could be used from anyone interested for free, because they are published on online platform. 10 seminars were conducted with different organizations, experts from local municipalities, teachers, psychologist and school advisers. It was also conducted a survey with students from Bulgaria, Romania and Greece which were held a package of diagnostics for indicating any errors in the methodology. Another attained result is the conducting of the transnational project meetings in Bulgaria, Romania and Greece.
• If relevant, longer-term benefits.
The long-term benefit of this project is the methodologies, manuals and guidelines published on online platform , which can be accessed for free from anyone interested, it contains practical advises for school psychologists and school advisers for diagnosing and working with students in risk.
