Project Summary
The aim of the project is to develop digital tools that can be helpful for both groups of students (regular & with disabilities) and applied even in one classroom. It is in the interest of society and part of EU values to promote integrated, diverse, and understanding society. ICT tools and immersive (VR/AR) technology can help to balance out highs and lows for an individual, customized approach and make the learning process interactive, experience-based. We hope that our project will be a systematic introduction for educators new to working with children with special needs, as well as an interesting update for those familiar with the area. There is a lack of digital (ICT) tools that could facilitate engaging, interactive learning for both kids with and without disabilities in one classroom. The problem within the educational sector and cross-subject integration methods are issues discussed beyond borders in all EU countries. It is important to address a systematic way of looking at technology as a support network rather than tool-by-tool use. It is also teamwork at school – understanding tools, systems, and having skilled colleagues. International cooperation means also exchanging teaching methods and ideas among teachers and will help to expand the teachers Personal Learning Network. This will help us improve our school courses, stimulate our pupil’s interest in education, and increase their self-esteem.
The project addresses educators & teachers and their students mainly in partner countries. With the help of multiplier events online and offline we aim to reach out to the international audiences of educators, headmasters, education policymakers, and also startups and technology companies. Students with fewer opportunities & special needs as well as regular students will actively take part in testing, feedback generation, and contribute to improvements.
The project is collaborative work between education experts, educators, and creative tech SME. In such matter project also aims to bridge the gap between the education sector and entrepreneurship. The best way to look for collaborative methods is to practically “rub shoulders” with one another by working hand in hand.
The outcomes of the project will be 2 Digital Tools for subjects related to developing social skills and arts & design as well as Educator’s Guidebook.
This Digital Tools will be built around 5-8 thematic stories(scenarios), which will be selected by participants during Transnational meetings and then teachers will work on building the content side around the scenarios, working with learning designers, experts, facilitators on interactive information architecture. The work of content experts and teachers will be to define “the low points” of learning the topics from a shared experience of participants from work they do with their kids (with/without disabilities) as well as evaluate existing digital learning tools and analyze what could be used in building custom tools. The team will work with iterative, agile working methods involving design thinking and hands-on workshops.
The project is done collaboratively between 4 partners representing educational institutions(schools), NGO and startup from 3 countries – Latvia, Turkey, Hungary.
The project will directly involve around 20 educators and teachers from participating organizations and reach out to approximately 120 educators and teachers in follow up activities.
