Project Summary
Project The Innovative Information Technology in the modern VET schools has 3 basic priorities : innovative practice in the digital era, continuous development of VET teachers in the school and in the workplace, and the development of sustainable partnerships between schools, that will lead to their development.
The main objective of the project is to exchange examples of good practice with the use of modern IT technology in 5 secondary VET schools in Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey and Serbia, through implementation in schools and in enterprises. Each of the schools is more advanced in one area than the others.
Through 5 trainings (1 in each school) groups of 2 teachers and 2 students (boy and girl) would be trained in the use of advanced information technology, applied through practical subjects, from:
– computer networks (use of MikroTik routers)
– programming (practical applications in C #)
– web design (creation of interactive web pages)
– arduino design (practical application of arduino sets)
– 3D design and printing (design and production of products on a 3D printer)
Training materials would be produced and integrated into teaching activities in relevant subjects in each of the schools.
At the end of the training, a competition will be held in each of the countries, with the application of used technologies in enterprises, in which students will be solving a specific task in the work placements. Company representatives will give their suggestions on the trainings and materials that will be produced and used.
Upon returning from training, teachers and students who have undergone training will provide trainings for teachers and students in the home school. When teachers in all schools are trained working materials will be finally formed and will be integrated into classes, but will also be available on different platforms (project site, school sites, youtube channel, eTwinning platforms, …). for wider use.
Upon completion of all training, the use of new technologies in relevant companies and schools in the home countries will be promoted. The possibility of expanding cooperation between partner schools in the future, expanding this or through some new projects will be considered.
The project activities will provide an opportunity for project participants, teachers and students to acquire new technical and professional skills, increase their foreign language skills and improve their personal and social skills. Students will also develop their leadership skills and team spirit. Teachers will help transfer the knowledge they have gained to their colleagues and further enhance their digital competencies by creating training materials to accompany them. Teachers who did not participate directly in mobility but attended training in their schools will also improve their professional competences and raise their professional knowledge to a higher level. Students in all participating schools will be given the opportunity to have higher quality and innovative vocational teaching, which will improve their employability and increase their motivation to learn, in order to participate in some future projects. Project team members will gain more experience working on projects and will increase their motivation to work and write some future projects at school. The participating schools themselves will become more competitive in their work by facilitating the transfer of modern and advanced practices in their fields of work. They will also be able to influence other schools in their local community to embark on international projects.
Other vocational schools that study the subject matter, in their home countries and at European level, will also be able to use and apply the materials they have learned, thus improving their teaching.
Collaboration between partner schools and businesses will be raised to a higher level, whereby businesses will be able to gain insight and provide suggestions for practical exercises that will be designed.
Establishing a network of schools working in the same areas of work will create the opportunity for some future collaborations and projects, allowing everyone to develop their European identity and advance at the European level.
