Project Summary

TOCfE is a methodology recognised in 22 countries, on six continents, developing applications for all educational stages for more than 20 years. Nowadays, education all over the world faces the most serious challenge in the history, to prepare students for the technical revolution and its consequences that we are still not aware of. TOC for Education is set of thinking tools, with graphic form that enables teachers and students develop key competences for XXI century challenges:
-critical thinking,
-cause and effect relations,
-creative thinking,
– conflict resolution,
– problem solving,
– cooperation,
– goal setting and goal achieving.
It is always challenging for the teachers to implement new methodology to their own style of teaching methods. The TOCfE program strenghten the teaching competences of teachers and supply them with innovative tools that impact teaching competences.

The aim of the project is to create a model of implementing TOCfE methodology that will contribute to the development of critical thinking , combining with School Mediation process for improvement towards safe school environment and conflict resolution skills.

The project objectives are:
1.To provide general education schools with an innovative methodology of TOCfE to develop key competences to students 6-15 years.
2.To provide general education schools with methodological materials that will help to develop student key competences (critical thinking, creative thinking, conflict resolution, cooperation) through the TOCfE and School Mediation.
3.To enhace applicability and facilitate transferability of the project innovative approach through the provision of a set of recommendations, strategies and piloting implementation practices.

According to objective 1, the TOC for Education methodology for general educationschools students aged 6-15 will be implemented in combination with School Mediation adaption.
According to the objective 2, pedagogical materials for teachers, students and parents will be created.
According to objective 3, teachers and students will be trained, materials will be established and/or developed, the pedagogical material will be piloted and evaluated in the involved schools and according to pilot results – final TOCfE model for general educationschools students aged 6-15 will be created.

Target group:
1. 6-15 years school pupils learning in primary schools;
2. Teachers from primary schools;
3. Indirect target group: parents, other stakeholders.

TOC for Education (TOCfE) and school mediation methodology implementing in the IMPETUS-TOC project provides a forum for the teachers and student to develop skills in problem-solving, decision-making, time management, teamwork, critical and holistic outlook to answer to the demands of XXI century revolution challenges that impact education all over the world.
