Project Summary
The project „Innovative methods of teaching foreign languages with the use of information and communication technologies” was created on the basis of all three schools’ needs that want to participate in a three-side partnership: Poland, Croatia and Italy. The main purpose of the project is exchanging good practices between schools.
The detailed objectives are:
-to improve teachers’ skills in using innovative methods of teaching foreign languages with the use of ICT
-to develop students’ motivation to learn foreign languages
-to increase efficiency in the process of foreign languages learning with the use of ICT
-to improve skills of using ICT and taking action which will have a positive impact on preparing students for living in a society.
250 students, at the age 12-15 years old, will participate in the project. These children want to develop their language skills and they are interested in ICT. There will be 12 students from each country taking part in mobilities. This group will consist of pupils who have good grades at school, disabled children, children having poor living conditions and children with specific learning difficulties. All participants will be supported by teachers from each partnership’s school.
We have prepared a detailed schedule in order to achieve all the goals. The schedule contains:
-teachers’ meetings in each of 3 countries which are involved in project. During the mobilities teachers will share their knowledge and experience in using ICT in innovation foreign language teaching and learning. Teachers will also have opportunity to take part in open classes which will be based on innovative teaching of English
-students’ mobilities when they will have a chance to take part in classes conducted by teachers/ specialists from host country with the use of innovative methods of teaching foreign languages
-local activities which will take place between mobilities that aim at good communicating between partners, managing the project and achieving the goals.
Partnership schools will introduce their own methods of teaching foreign languages, which are:
-teaching English with the use of robots coding – POLAND
-teaching English with the use of interactive board – Croatia
-teaching English with the use of digital applications – Italy
During activities related to the project a lot of educational tools will be created. The tools will be used by the teachers from partnership’s schools. These will be: virtual guide, leaflets and brochures with the teaching and learning foreign language methods, classes scripts, photos, multimedia presentations, digital stories, robots, video guides, films from the guide lessons, padlet presenting the whole project, blog with some advice for the teachers. The project’s results will be presented on: eTwinning platform, School Education Gateway, Erasmus+ platform. The products will be posted on our schools and local authorities’ websites. They will be translated into English, Croatian, Italian and Polish languages .
The effects of the project will be: development of key competences mainly communicating in English, development of concentration, reading and writing, managing in everyday life, development of teachers’ work with new methods, increase students’ achievement connected with ICT. The permanent result of the project will be cultivation of Geography and Culture knowledge, increase students’ social skills such as: working in groups, tolerance, creativity, ability to use the knowledge during practical activities. Thanks to digital technologies there will be a progress in students’ communization proces. They will be open to European digitalization. All the innovative methods will be used as new solutions not only by our schools, but also by other schools and organisations connected with education.
