Project Summary
Our project is mainly aimed at the integration of our immigrant students who are educated in our institutions to our educational environments. We know that our world is experiencing the most widespread migration mobility in the last 100 years. We are aware that new problems need new solutions. The importance of this integration will emerge if we consider that asylum seekers who migrate to our country are under the age of 18 in education process. As a result of our surveys in our institutions
* 74% of children have lost at least one of their family,
* 30% of them have been subjected to violence or physical violence,
* 45% of patients have post-traumatic stress disorder.
We know that the breakdown of the school population as a result of the failure of the integration process of the child population with such psychological states will reproduce violence, poverty, alienation. We see that children of families in the same educational environment with these children have at least witnessed problems. The possibility of children growing up in this environment as unhappy, aimless, unsupervised and unsafe adults is the main starting point for us. Individuals who grow up are potential migrants and are far from inclusion in their common future denominator.
To sum up, we live together and learn together in a multicultural environment with our students despite different levels of readiness. In this process, we are experiencing the necessity to redefine our needs every day.
While we know that our personal investment is not enough to adapt to this new situation, we are willing to do all the LTTA. We know that the change in attitude that will be the result of LTT activities will change our education environment in the short term, the urban residents who share the same living environment as our parents who are our guardians in the long term, and the staff of the surrounding schools.
Although all staff members will acknowledge the impact of this project, we have determined activities of LTT activities of this project and planned the selection of the personnel according to these criteria. We will make this choice with our commission. Our project started with the establishment of our project on 25.11.2018 ( https://live.etwinning.net/projects/project/183189) through e-twinning platform with schools having common problems.
When choosing our partners, we thought that implementing our project with immigrants and countries with knowledge and experience of migration would be better able to solve common problems together. Thus, 5 countries, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Romania and Spain have come together.
Prior to our mobility activities, the task sharing and planning of the passports, visas, air tickets and insurance of the personnel who will participate in the preparation works to be performed by our project teams were held. In order to prevent potential problems that the participants may experience during the LTTA period, we plan to disseminate and disseminate a booklet containing information about the project, the presentation of the countries, the cultures, the languages, the religions, the places where they will be accommodated, the conditions of transportation, and a booklet containing this information. We aimed to provide English language courses 2 months before the mobility started. Within the scope of auditing activities, we planned pre-test, post-test applications, reporting of the whole process and feedback forms in order to measure the efficiency and benefit of the participants.
In the dissemination activities, we agreed to take the premise of expanding our sphere of influence by sharing the information acquired by our participant teachers throughout the LTTA with the teachers of our institutions and with the teachers of the surrounding schools. With the change of attitude we aim to provide, we expect the results of improving school peace, increasing academic success and disseminating psycho-social positive developments in immigrant students. We aim to create a culture of cooperation in all of our parents, in our close institutions and in our local community, to adopt empathy, to adopt the other instead of othering.
As a final word, we are ready to implement this project, to expand it, to develop its domain. We have to say that we have the competence and determination to be the pioneer of change with our partners.
