Project Summary

In Travel, Leisure and Hospitality industry there is a strong need for future staff with a high potential
Staff that is innovative, creative and entrepreneurial at the same time. Staff that is able to develop new regional tourism packages in an (upper) regional, national and international context anticipating market developments.

The project therefore focuses on developing and operationalizing a new WBL instrument: the International Learning Communtiy for Travel, Leisure and Hospitality (ILC-T). An inspiring international learning and working environment linked to the curriculum. In this international environment actual issues and topics – so called case studies – from the field will be tackled in one semester by an international student team (upper secondary VET and Higher Education level) in an international classroom context – mostly online ( attractive learning). The students will be supported by an international team of experts ( Teachers VET/ Higher education and field professionals). The expert team provides the needed additional expertise by means of master classes, short-term (digital) training and or online classes; topics : market research, searching, selecting and analysing information, conducting market research, SWOT analyzes, creating operational plans, entrepreneurial skills etc . At the end of the semester results will be presented to and reviewed by the expert team.

The joint products are a tILC-T Toolkit designed to be transferable into other branches and international contexts
