Project Summary

INTO MUSIC will have an impact on the way music teachers and students use and understand music, as they will get more into music, meaning that they will rediscover music. This will happen as a result of increased competences, relevance of the methodologies and a better connection to the needs of young people.
More specifically the results of the project are related to the specific to be undertaken in the project:
INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS
-Online course on Digital skills for music teachers – how to use technology in music teaching
-Online course for methods in the field of music education will focus on building teaching methods based on the pillars: rhythm and sound- people and places- connections with other disciplines
-Internationalization of music teaching through gamification- digital resource
-Integrating ecology, handcrafting -Online toolkit for music teaching with recycled materials
-OER / e-learning platform – a platform open to teaching and learning music contents
The RESULTS associated to the IOs are an improvement for the educational offer for music teachers, being tailored for modern education in which technology and creativity are prerequisites. These IOs can be used by any teacher, in Europe or outside Europe.
The total number of beneficiaries who will access these resources throughouth the entire period of the project will be 10 000 music teachers, students, social workers, youth workers, other types of educational practitioners.
2. FOCUS GROUPS with music teachers (4/country) and other relevant stakeholders (3/country) before each IO- the focus groups consist of brainstorming and exploratory meetings The RESULTS derived from the focus groups are a better understanding of the needs of music teachers across the EU and offering grassroot solutions for a modern approach towards music teaching.
3. TRAINING COURSES (2) for teachers (16 participants/training course) -during these training courses (LTT- learning, teaching and training activities) teachers will learn how to use the instruments we have developed in the project. They provide feedback and test the instruments remotely with their students and on the spot with students of the host country
The RESULTS of these training course are mostly qualitative- upskilled music teachers, who introduce in their teaching programme activities with increased relevance and better connection to modern education (technology based and creativity oriented)
4. PEER LEARNING ACTIVITIES- sessions organized by each of the participating organizations (sharing experiences from the training sessions and from class)- beneficiaries 80 teachers
The RESULTS we obtain: transfer of knowledge, interaction with peers and good dissemination of the IOs
5. TESTING IOs in class activities – evidence-based work- each of the teachers participating in the project will hold for 6 months a teaching diary, in which we will measure the level of impact of the deliverables- tested by 80 teachers in all 4 countries
The RESULTS of the testing activities combined with the results of the training activities is a consolidated approach towards renewing music teaching in the 4 countries in which the project is implemented, with the potential of expanding this result and the subsequent impact of the project.
5. TRANSNATIONAL Project Meetings-We will organize 4 project meetings in the project, with 2 participants from each partner
RESULT : improved cooperation and solid management of the project
3. 4 MULTIPLIER EVENTS presenting the results of the intellectual outputs and the training courses (sharing the results with the local, regional community and also interested parts from the host country and neighbouring countries)- a total of 150 participants
The project will also have a relevant dissemination platform at its disposal through: EAMS (European Association for Music in Schools)https://eas-music.org/- The European Association for Music in Schools is a music education network. It brings together all those concerned with music education to share and exchange knowledge and experience in professional fields and to advocate for high quality music education accessible to all. We will participate in their annual conferences to present the results of the project.
The RESULTS of multiplier events are related to the capacity of the project of expanding its impact and relevance beyond the scope of the project.
To sum up the main results of the project are the following:
-Up-scaling music teachers competences
-Elaborating new teaching methodologies (based on technology, gamification and interdisciplinarity)- testing and implementing those methodologies
-Disseminating methodologies through peer-learning and through multiplier events and the participation in the conferences of the EAMS
-Reinforced international/European cooperation in the field of music teaching
