Project Summary
The project, which have taken place in Italy, France, Senegal, was aimed to promote active participation of young people in the society and the development of intercultural dynamics by encouraging cooperation, networking and exchange of good practices among youth associations.
The purpose of the project has been to improve the internationalization of youth associations, to strengthen skills, knowledge, methods of youth workers; to promote intercultural awareness through the exchange of good practices; to encourage the involvement of young people. The project has been developed in urban and peri-urban territories of the partners involved, where the phenomena of marginalization, insecurity and youth unemployment are widespread. In such contexts, youth organizations can play a crucial role in order to foster participation and active citizenship of young in the society.
The project was aimed to ensure the involvement of all the target groups, at the begin, in the mobility preliminary phase, in the training Course, in the Seminars and Workshops which took place during the week and at the end in the dissemination activities in every territory involved.
The core of the project has been the mobility week of youth workers from France and Senegal, which has seen the participation of Italian workers (12-17 October 2015 in Turin).
The youth workers have participated to the Course “Methods and educational best practices for young people on sustainable development and international solidarity”.
Alongside the Course other main activities have been: the Expo2015 Study Tour; the International Conference “Food, common good and responsibility”, organized on the occasion of the World Day of the FAO; the Workshop “Communicating the actions of youth and international cooperation for a more sustainable world” and they have also been able to visit the Fair “Fa ‘la cosa giusta!”(“Do the right thing!”) which provided youth workers some suggestions and inputs for the dissemination activities to be developed in the territories.
Main topics of the exchange mobility week among partners, youth workers and other partners groups have been: cooperation and international solidarity, sustainable development, common goods, food and agriculture, global citizenship.
Following the mobility week, the youth workers have carried out dissemination activities based on the skills and methods acquired and on the subject of sustainable development, international solidarity, agriculture, environment. These activities, tailored to the different territory contexts, have involved some other youth workers, women’s groups, farmers, students and local administrators. During the project has also been realized a Blog (https://jeuneap.wordpress.com) to share training and awareness activities that have taken place in the three countries.
