Project Summary

The project “Just read!” was realized by four partner schools from: Spain, Romania, Germany and Poland which was the coordinator of all action. The main theme is the book and the whole of reading. The most important goal of the project is to popularize reading and books as a source of knowledge about the world and interesting ways of spending time. Thanks to the project activities participants also learnt the history of the book and the history of the script. They found out how the words were written from ages.
The project was an innovative. It was a combination of modern forms of communication and gathering information with centuries message of knowledge about the world, which is the book. In its activities participants used word processors, social networking, Internet, e-mail, PowerPoint. The result of the cooperation became an e-book, which was co-created by all partner schools throughout the duration of the cooperation. Among other tasks it’s worth to mention: preparation exhibition dedicated to the history of writing, design of book cover, organize a marathon of beautiful reading, draw up the list of the most interesting books common to all the partners, Night with the book. Moreover participants visited the museum of writing, printing, selected libraries. During the meetings, both students and teachers had the opportunity to exchange educational experiences, strike up an interesting acquaintance, improve linguistic skills in speech and in writing.
The entirety was an interesting way of promoting literacy with the use of modern forms of communication.
