Project Summary
In the year 2017 a European Art Collective was founded by a few individuals from The Netherlands and Iceland. The collective, Tut Töt Tuð, is a gathering of people interested in the various fields of art. It is a forum to present ideas and get feedback before sharing them with the world, create international opportunities for artists and share information. It is a community of artists interested in international collaboration, organising events together as a group as well as helping each other out to set up events in different countries.
Tut Töt Tuð invited a few young artists from Iceland, The Netherlands and Germany to join them in organising an audio and art exhibition in Groningen. The exhibition, held in November 2018, was a two day happening where Tut Töt Tuð and its guest-artists showed new works, installations, audio-visual performances, concerts, interactive experiences and public talks. There was presented audio works, processes of creation, video works, ensemble and solo performances, audio-visual works and installations.
The exhibition was an ongoing showcase, giving people the opportunity to drop by for a short visit or stay for as long as they like. The exhibition consciously activates EU artists and makes art that travels and connects with the different communities within Europe. The exhibition will continue to grow as a biannual event and by opening up this kind of European collaboration we hope to grow our collective and expand it little by little every year. We believe that by making a European artist community with people who have versatile backgrounds and skills we will be able to create something purposeful together for the European artistic landscape, broaden our horizons and add to the shared experiences European citizens have together.
Tut Töt Tuð: A European audio & art exhibition is a new platform for audio, visual and audiovisual art organised by the members of the Tut Töt Tuð collective. The exhibition bridges the gap between the exhibition and the festival. The newly developed art-collective Tut Töt Tuð will continue to provide opportunities to break the network barrier for young artists to enter the European stage. The long term project enhances the geographical and artistic connection of a new generation.
