Project Summary

Using the strategies of environmental education we have organised international conferences over the years in the topics of environment protection, sustainability and life-long learning. Our project has been motivated by continuing and presenting this work in new scenes, achieving it in innovative and international teamwork, and by the sustainability. We have set our objectives and the activities of the project using real necessities. The objective of our programme of Life – Environmental Movement Programme for Children will be to create a playful environmental programme based on activities with emphasis on values such as developing environment-conscious behaviour and thinking, respecting and protecting the values of the natural and social environment, healthy lifestyle and mental health. We would like to implement our programme cooperating with our partners, with a holistic view, in a complex way, taking the characteristics of the age-group of children into consideration, within the framework of emotional security and in a tight partnership with the parents. We are going to give the participants the opportunity to have fun and gain experiences together, and to develop both a harmonic personality and a harmonic community. To achieve our goals we are going to use music, literature, dance, traditionalism and our cultural heritage. Our logo depicts a suitcase with rolls which we fill with programmes, activities and knowledge and which we can take anywhere and open anywhere; it does not matter what size it is because innovations and good practices can be stored on a small memory stick. It is a mobile programme in which movement will focus on sharing knowledge with partners. Adjusting to the selected priorities, multifarious programmes will give us the possibility to develop and improve the basic skills and competences of children; these programmes will increase their successfulness, contribute to the preservation of our European cultural heritage and help in the change from kindergarten to school. We are going to make a supporting learning environment together with the pedagogues of the three partner institutions in which we are going to provide our children equal opportunities, compensation of disadvantages; talent management, we are going to highlight their individual values and develop their personality in a complex way. We are Hungarians in different countries of Europe, however, our language and our mutual roots will join us and they also help us to think together. Using our virtual world and operating various communication channels we are going to enable our children to get in touch with kindergartens in foreign countries and improve their own abilities (videos, messages, online information). All of these will strengthen our children’s identity and their national awareness. Our national and folk values will appear in our everyday lives and activities. Our pedagogues are going to be given the opportunity to improve their professional and methodological cultures; they can also get to know the education systems of other countries. Our partners are institutions with the same values. Each of the three partner institutions has such knowledge and such experience that can make our programme richer. When organising international partnership meetings our aim is to get to know the environmental educational programmes and the innovative methodology of the kindergartens with the Hungarian language as their native language; also, we would like to share our good practises, to expand and improve both our personal and institutional relationships. The experience we could gain would be integrated in our institutional environment, we are going to develop the structure of our institutions, increase our knowledge and make our pedagogical work more colourful. Our courses such as “Move for health”, “Playful environmental education”, “Mental health education by arts” support the participants to get more knowledge both theoretically and practically. Our lecturers are acknowledged experts. We are going to share the results of the project both in and outside the institutions.
Professional days, workshops and conferences give us the opportunity to involve colleagues working in the different areas of community culture, kindergarten pedagogues, and delegates of the controlling authorities and civil organisations. During the period of the project implementation we involved more kindergartens and schools (Move your body! Playful environmental education, Mental health education, professional day, drawing competitions) to help children in the change from kindergarten to school. We would like to publish and circulate our Environmental Movement Programme for Children both in a written and in a digital form and make a mutual website and a blog to give the participants the possibility to follow the project and to make it sustainable more widely.
