Project Summary

There is a significant lack of opportunities for young people with disabilities to lead sports activities in their local communities. LEADS is a project to promote the development of leaderships skills in young people with disabilities in order that they can promote, lead and coach disability sports in their own schools and communities. The partnership harnesses the existing expertise in delivering sports leadership programmes of National Star in UK and Beisalski Schule in Germany. The project will involve 36 young people with disabilities currently involved in disability sport activities. A project web platform holds leadership case studies and guidance resources on 8 disability sport activities that other organisations can download to promote disability sport within their schools and community venues.
