Project Summary
In a world of rapid change, education in many countries is becoming a serious problem. It is necessary to redefine the learning process, improve our students with skills that can help them quickly integrate and adapt to change. In this context, the main program coordinator defines social integration as a starting point for the development of mental skills.
The program “Active and Responsible Citizen” unites 5 schools from Greece, Italy, Romania, Poland and Turkey. Our children are raised, faced with one of the biggest problems. As a young man, they are trying to improve their citizenship. Identify our students as responsible active citizens of Europe.
As part of our project, we strive to understand our students.
The objectives of our project:
Raise awareness of active citizenship in 250 schools from 5 EU schools during the 2-year plan
– develop 250 knowledge, attitudes and skills of students who must act as active citizens in their communities
– the ability of active citizenship as a way of life among students from 5 EU countries
– create an online school tool, which will include examples of good practices to promote active citizenship
The project involves 250 elementary school students (aged 12-14years) who participate in the project.
We carefully develop a series of activities that will lead to the goals of the program, using a strategy of social and emotional learning (SEL) to help students immerse themselves in the design of the project. SEL wants to share their knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to understand and manage their emotions, personal feelings, setting personal goals,
Various educational strategies (group discussion, discussion of roles, modeling, discussions, multimedia presentations, external speakers) are aimed at raising awareness of an active civic position. The results of these events are: 5 multimedia presentations “What is active citizenship?” 5 videos: “Cultural values in my country”, 5 seminars with a special visitor, external speakers representing the interests of volunteers in each partner country.
Developing activities using SEL (comics, stories, group activities, games for group building), we strive to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills of our students as active citizens of their communities. Improve social awareness of students, self-knowledge, self-management, responsible decision-making and communication skills, tangible results of comics, a magazine containing stories, 5 multimedia presentations “Active citizens and the environment” “My school, my country. Therefore, I want to create a common garden Erasmus +.
To create an active citizenship as a way of life, the Active Citizens Club wants to be created for students in all 5 schools participating in the project. These clubs are aimed at developing incentives and commitment to facilitating the participation of citizens in life in the long term. Students of the club will purchase general shirts created within the project. One of the club’s events will be the creation of jubilee and handicraft products for the project partners.
Teachers want to develop a lesson plan using a multidisciplinary approach that will become part of the Active Citizen tool to promote active citizenship.
Through this partnership, we strive to develop an active citizenship and accountability, expand the cooperation of schools with members of local communities, encourage schools to adopt social and emotional training programs. organization of activities related to the subject of the project, development of school programs.
