Project Summary

With our project “Learning is interesting and fun” we aimed for increasing children 21 th century skills. We collected experience to apply inclusive education and approach new way of teaching/learning and increased teachers professional skills.
As the result of this project children are now in learning process active explorers not passive listeners as it has been before. Using technology in learning process has had a positive impact on children and how they feel towards learning – they feel more positive, they are active and more successful. We believe this all will have impact on children learning skills and management in school. If they have better skills, they manage better in school.
During project we implemented principles of considering individuality in learning process, innovation, increase of children and teachers technology skills, and integration between different fields of study. Technology was and is in the future integrated to learning activities. Teachers now have enough necessary skills and knowledge about the usage of technology and educational robots. Also as the result of cooperation we have gathered a great variety of technology equipment and the practical use of them, a great variety of applications and internet sites to use in learning process and the practical use of them. All this information and also a variety of learning activities has been gathered to a website and teachers handbook created during the project. This website will remain active and freely available after the project ends. Teachers handbook is a useful material for teachers to be used in the future when planning learning activities.
With this project we approached Erasmus+ program relevant horizontal and school education field priorities such as strengthening the profiles of the teaching professions, development of relevant and high quality skills and competences and open education and innovative practices in digital era.
The most important objectives of our project were:
-Improve teachers and children digital and technology skills using different smart devices, educational robots and ICT equipment
-Improve teachers and children knowledge and skills about using applications and creating materials and games using different internet environments
-Learning through playing
-Involve technology to everyday learning activities
-Designing positive attitude towards learning
-To handle internet security topic with children
-Children gained new knowledge about other countries and cultures.
The objectives were achieved through carefully planned project activities such as:
-Learning materials about every partner country created with children
-Project team work meetings: creation of practical workshop which were carried out during next training event
-SMART WEEKS for children. Different topics and different activities were handled with children using knowledge and skills teachers gained during every
training event.
-Practical learning workshops during exchange of experience meetings for teachers
-Teachers created learning materials through different applications and internet environments: interactive images, teamwork, quizes, tests, picture stories, crossword puzzles, QR codes aso.
-Training for all teachers in every partner institution after every training event, dissemination of knowledge and experience inside every institution
-Every countries introduction week to children
-Learning activities with children through different learning fields using technology and applications.
-Children gained new knowledge and skills by creating: videos, photo collages, comic books, animations aso.
-Internet security seminar
The results we achieved during the project were:
-Children digital and technical skills and competence were improved through practical experience
-Teachers digital and technical skills and competence were improved through practical experience
-Created webpage and teachers handbook for learning materials – activities, list of technology, applications and environments
-Materials conducted with children for introducing countries
-Renewal of curriculums
In this project were involved teachers and children between age 3-7 (9) years old from 5 different European countries. The project was a learning project for both teachers and children. Both relevant target groups have gained a variety of practical experience and new skills they implemented during the project.
This project will have a long-term impact on every partner institution. All institutions will have now new equipment, competences and skills to include technology to everyday learning activities consistently for further on. Children are more competent about using technology and they feel more positive about learning. The webpage and teachers handbook created during the project will remain active and freely available for teachers in Europe to gain new knowledge and ideas how to use technology in everyday learning activities through-out different fields of study.
