Basic information about the project

PROJECT TITLE: Lernen mit Spass – Unterrichten mit modernen Lernmethoden.
DURATION: 1.09.2019 – 31.08.2021.

COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING: Poland, Croatia, , Hungary, Italy, Spain.

PROJECT GOALS.
Main goal: increase students’ motivation to learn German.
Partial objectives:
– making the possibility of communication in real situations,
– greater participation of activating and problem-based methods and ICT in the lesson,
– a larger number of lessons using project elements,
– new methods and tools for teaching communication vocabulary in a foreign language,
– creating opportunities for students to participate in culture and to use the value of European cultural heritage to develop skills and education of key competences.

NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS:
-92 students aged 16-19 learning German as a second foreign language will participate in five short-term exchanges of groups of students,
-16 German.English teachers will take part in two short training programs about modern teaching methods using ICT,
– 30% of the pupils from all partner schools will be involved in local activities,
-headmasters of partner schools, foreign language teachers, cultural knowledge, knowledge about society, IT and pedagogues (at least 20% of pedagogical staff from each school),
-30 parents from each partner school,
– local authorities.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIONS
Students’ activities will develop their language competences in the field of communication in German, cultural and social competences.
Students will work with teachers during development and testing
innovative teaching methods and aids. In addition, they will write scripts for a joint theater performance, prepare costumes and decorations, and present them to the school and local community. They will use available technical means and internet applications. They will learn to communicate in a foreign language with their peers from other countries
during virtual cooperation as well as personal contacts.
As part of local activities, pupils, under the supervision of teachers, will work in their own schools to achieve the expected project goals in German language classes, cultural knowledge, social knowledge, other foreign languages, IT and classes with the school teacher.
They will communicate with other project partners on the eTwinning platform, on Facebook and through the use of instant messengers to discuss how to perform individual tasks. At the TwinSpace, website and blog of the project successively the results of the project will be spread and shared.
German/English language teachers will take part in short training meetings. The first one will be devoted to new methods of teaching foreign languages and the use of eTwinning in language education, the second methods of working with film in teaching a foreign language.

In each country, during the short-term exchanges of groups of students and training meetings, open language lessons, innovative teaching aids will be prepared.
Students – participants of mobility – will be accommodated by families where possible, which will enable them to get to know better the culture and everyday life of their peers from other countries.

PREDICTED RESULTS AND IMPACT OF THE PROJECT
Material results:

– trained people in the field of modern methods of teaching foreign languages

– open lessons and webinars editing,
– open educational resources.
Intagible results:
– increase of knowledge of project participants on modern methods of teaching foreign languages,
– the increase of skills in the use of information and communication technology in teaching,
-change of attitudes towards other nationalities,
– increase in key, cultural and social competences.

LONG-TERM RESULTS
– greater openness of teachers and their willingness to continue learning and improving qualifications,
-new methods of working with students,
– implementation of subsequent eTwinning projects and international school cooperation.
