Project Summary
The strategic partnership “The paths of blue in Europe: transversality of learning and transculturality of languages” was based on the collaboration of European organizations differently involved in adult education, including the most disadvantaged or excluded, in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and Romania.
The objectives focus on the necessity to respond to the needs of learners and the priority of the Erasmus + program to develop basic skills using innovative methods: – implement a pedagogy centered on transversal learning of the blue color as motivation vector, to advance the core competencies of specific adult learner groups,
– to relate this pedagogical work with the blue color, symbol of the European Union, and whose languages are articulated differently according to the countries, their patrimonies and their cultures.
– use creative methods centered on the adult learner, aiming at the development of his personal competences, the necessary self-confidence to be included in European society and to meet the requirements of the labor market.
The ten partners involved in this project are of different typologies: cultural associations and centers, training of trainers organization, popular university, adult training center, study center, school dedicated to the practice of the arts of heritage and culture. crafts, school groups. The approach is cross-sectoral: the results of the project have also helped to address shortcomings in basic skills in school education.
The main activities of the project focused on:
– management and monitoring of the project,
– the implementation of effective strategies for learning, research and practice, by the learner, of the color blue,
– the implementation by the trainers of strategies for pooling this work,
– Dissemination of the project on the one hand, and its results on the other, locally, nationally and internationally.
The results achieved are:
– a precise governance scheme for the management of the project, the monitoring of its quality, and a real dynamic within the partnership,
– Train the trainer actions and blue cross-curricular learning educational programs, focusing on the development of learners’ key competences,
– sharing, sharing, writing, translating and publishing these strategies, in 5 languages - Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian – in 2 common online books

– “Chemins du bleu en Europe”, illustrating the research carried out by each partner on the blue in its cultural heritage and the paths traced by this color between the countries,

– Dissemination activities of the project and its results, relayed in a specific section of the website at the local, regional, national and international levels, through specific events to target the widest audience: exhibitions, performances, theater, conferences, awarding contests, participation in national and international events relayed by the media and social networks.
impacts
1) on learners: better mastery of key competences, greater self-confidence, a desire to learn and to be open to cultural diversity
2) on trainers: excellent collaboration between the partner countries, learning opportunities better focused on the individual of each learner, awareness of new training needs,
3) on the partner structures:
– a quality local image, with regard to territorial actors,
– a wider educational offer
– the Erasmus + k1 mobility project “European blue as a banner against the exclusion of adults” selected in 2017.
The dissemination of the project and its results continues on a very large scale and in a sustainable manner, thanks to the online publication and in 5 languages of the products.
In addition, an application for a label is underway for the constitution of a future “European cultural route of the blue color” connecting a growing number of European countries and outside Europe.
