This project name „Let´s go increase skills of 21st century“ is based on ICT and polytechnic education. The aim of the project is to improve conditions for successful learning and offer a variety of activities and methods which focus on practical activites.
The project involves five schools in five countries – the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Turkey.
All schools want to increase skills of 21st century, especially information and communication skills and technic skills. In all partner schools there are students with different cultural background, migrant students, students with learning difficulties and all of them need individual approach. All schools want to use innovative methods to find a way how to improve student´s results and help them to feel satisfied with their studies and reduce early school leaving.
The school in Czech Republic, (coordinator school), Zakladni škola Vrchlickeho 22 Sumperk is the school with an extensive teaching of information and communication technology and foreign languages (English, Germany and Russian). The aim of the school is to educate Europian oriented people, use innovative methodolities and ICT. Almost teachers involve in ICT or polytechnic project and increase in their children ICT competences.

We have decided to prepare a project which offers pupils an opportunity of personal development, an opportunity to improve existing skills and to try something new. We believe that the suggested activities will improve pupils´ attendance at school and their commitment to education.
The project will involve hundreds (900) of students, directly or indirectly. Some activities will be short-term and they will bring an innovative method to a lesson, for example practical activities for learning Chemistry, Biology, Physics and ICT. Some activities will be long-term and they will require more
commitment and engagement from students, for example programming a robot by micro:bit, making video based on ICT activities. Some activities will be organized as a workshop, for example Science or ICT workshops or a project day for children from a local kindergarten to show children making robots or organize a competitions with robots for parents.
Students age 13 – 16 will benefit from the project. The activities will improve team work, reduce stress and stimulate creativity and imagination.
Students will make a calendar with robots, make T-shirts in program Pixlr, in Sketch up program will designe their robots, will organize a competition and races with robots, will learn about social media tools and how to be on the internet safe – all these activities will boost their creativity. Students will improve their language, communicative, IT and Scientic skills – they will design websites, make presentations about their school, download photos and learn how to edit photos and download videos. Scientific subjects will offer more attractive activities to motivate students to study them.
Various educational materials (worksheets, cards) will be created, tested and reviewed during the two years of the project duration and should become a common aid after the project is completed.
We hope to form close friendships between the participants from our schools, between different students within the school, between students and teachers. We hope the project will be a life changing experience for all the participants.
