Project Summary

The project´s title “Let´s Learn from the Others” very accurately describes its goal to encourage its participants to perform and share their very best educational and social practises.
It is a project that aims to address the most essential social, educational, economic as well as political values of today`s Europe in the context of our youth needs in order to educate and raise confident, skilled, well (self)employable, socially aware and critically thinking citizens of each participating country being proud to live in and share the democratic and crosscultural values of EU.
At these ever fast changing times we have been going through we want our students to be well prepared and teach them both types of skills (soft as well as hard ones) evenly. Apart from further building the participants communication and speaking skills, the project strongly focuses on fostering two different kinds of competencies: technical skills (science, technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, ICT, etc.) as well as social ones ( historical, cultural, social awarenes and expression, critical thinking, sense of initiative, leadership as well as team work, etc.)
The four colaborating parties met on eTwinning and School Education Gateway platforms and found the project objectives very appealing to their communities needs. Among the participants there are three smaller schools, Czech school called LSG (180 students aged 12-19, 20 teachers) located in rural area near Polish boarder, Italian Istituti Vinci of Ateneo Group (220 students aged 14 -19, 30 teachers) from the region of Lombardy, a newcomer to EU projects Greek Nikaia Larisas school (160 students aged 12 – 15, 20 teachers) from the Thessaly region and one of the largest schools from Hungarian Targovishte region No 2 Secondary School “Prof- Nikola Marinov” (1240 students aged 6 -19). Despite the fact that each school comes from a very different social, cultural and economic background, altogether they provide a very diverse potential to serve targeted community groups’ needs and thus meet the project objectives.
Each project participating institution can provide different kinds of educational topics (Italy-aviation, transport and logistics, Czechia-chemistry,ecology,entrepreneurship, Greece-food industry, local SMEs, Bulgaria-history, social studies) that will immerse the participants in a very complex learning process and will no doubt have very positive impact on all participants at its completion. Although the focused group are students aged 15 -18 ( total 24 students of each school involved in mobilities) the project activities are designed to spread far behind the schools and municipalities boarders. During 2 year project period we plan to run 12 mobilities always two partner schools meeting at a time for this project is meant to focus on higher level of proficiency so lower number of participants will provide better support and allow students to gain competencies of a higher proficiency. During mobilities guest students will be exposed to many interesting topic based problem solving wokshops and educational activities learning good practises from their hosting peers who will be encouraged to take the lead while the educators are supposed to provide the least possible guidance. Participants are expected to attend excursions and guided visits to places associated with the topics of mobilities (local enterprises, clubs, muzeums, etc.) focused on aviation, biology, chemistry and social studies, take part in practical science workshops that result in production of handmade UV lamps, producing chemical and natural handmade soaps, experimenting with optical systems, creating a handmade herb book followed by ebook, creating cultural performances (national dances), drawings and their exhibition, running a Zero Waste Event while filling in workheet tasks including students’ selfassessment feedback, reporting about each mobility in local and school medias (newspaper articles, radio/paper interviews, etc.). There will be a video conferences run at the end where all four schools will get connected to share their final feedback.
All the planned activities will be documented and continuously uploaded onto created website, eTwinning platform and other ICT tools to keep the project information accessible to all parties interested and insure its further dissemination. We hope through sharing and further disseminating the project results may increase not only the country, city and school community credit but also promote local businesses intenationally.
Most of all the project is trusted to help the participating schools produce successful, flexible, motivated and independent job seekers/creators well aware of their country as well as the EU citizenship in the long run.
