Project Summary
Let’s Plug! This is the title of our project. P stands for Participation because teamwork is essential for our project success. L for Learning because we want to learn from each other by exchanging good practices. U for Union because together we are going to make a final product with a long lasting effect. And G is for Genius because we want all our participants to become real geniuses and constantly develop their creativity.
We are six schools widely spread across Europe. Two partners from the South of Europe: Spain and Portugal, two from the western part, England and Ireland and two more partners from the east, Poland and Estonia.
Our realities are all unique and diverse but we have joined together to achieve the following objectives:
To give our teachers and pupils high quality skills in order to strengthen their profiles for the future in:
Digital skills
By including Technology, Programming and Robotics in a meaningful way at school and by using ICT’s.
Social skills
By exchanging good practices and working in groups through workshops, video tutorials, the eTwinning platform and participating in European T, P & R fairs.
English language skills
By using English as a main language for communication.
Creative skills
By trying to find new and original ways to use T, P & R in the classroom and to display our project results.
To eliminate barriers for students with special education needs
By using T, P & R
To increase our schools European belonging by getting to know all partners countries.
We plugged in because we have stated that Technologies, Programming and Robotics are always learnt at schools as a separate subject.
For that reason we have created a bank of activities in order to integrate T, P & R into a variety of content areas such as language arts, social studies, maths, and science, from early childhood to all levels of primary school and early secondary school.
This activity bank is displayed on a common designed project website with free access to everyone. The website has a video tutorials and documents created and designed by all school partners which explains every activity step by step and show in which subject it might be used. www.letsplug.eu
This was possible through a series of workshops carefully planned in order to assure all partner schools get to know a great variety of T, P & R tools.
Workshops were run out by instructor teachers within the partner schools. For instance, in Portugal three workshops took place on Bee Bot, Makey Makey and Code and were taught by Estonian, Spanish and Polish instructors. Sharing knowledge and learning from each other was crucial for our project´s success.
All workshop attendants from all partner countries will had the challenge not only to show them in their schools on the way back but also to go one step forward and find new ways to introduce these tools in our traditional subjects.
All schools created the activity bank which showed their pupils doing activities recorded through video tutorials.
During the second year we wanted focus on the dissemination of our newly created T, P & R activity bank by creating a Fair Stall.
We had our own logo and our own panels and leaflets to display. The initial plan was to join to three important National T, P & R Fairs: ANOIA TAST-TECH in Igualada (Spain), ROBOTEX in Tallinn (Estonia) and BT Young Scientists in Dublin (Ireland).
But, because of the pandemic situation, we joined only the one in ESTONIA (Robotex), the other two were cancelled.
After the project’s extension, we could turn into two virtual mobilities in order to finalize the project.
Finally we have a project website that can be used forever. So, a project commission will guarantee its continuity now on by adding new activities in our T, P & R bank which will always need renewing. T, P & R are future tools.
So, we believe that many schools will be interested in our final product as well as other kinds of organisations or individuals.
Furthermore, we want to attend the two missing fairs as soon as they organize again.
On that way our commonly created Stall will keep visiting other T, P & R fairs to assure our project dissemination and success.
We realize our project had a great impact in our organisations and also in the educative world. So, Let’s Plug!
