Project Summary
Art is the best way in order to convey many things and one’s express himself/herself. Educationalists are of the opinion that art not only supply academical success but also help inclusion of pupils to social environment, so art has a speacial meaning both for teachers and students. Art allows students to learn about themselves, their culture, and their community. Their creativity and imagination can be pushed through the development of art, so they can understand the world and
their environment better.Being busy with any kinds of art can give the feeling of creating something, group work consciousness, collaboration and so on to our pupils. In this project , there are six partner schools aiming to run a project about art in order to raise students awareness towards art and its benefits in their daily lives.
The project ‘s aims are:
-To include students who are coming from different backgrounds into society and school environment through art.
-To raise the level of inclusion and collaboration among students, teachers, parents and community through art
-To share cultures and arts
-To analyse the educational contexts in the name of art of all partners and base project activities on identified needs
-To promote the exchange of good and innovative practices and experiences between European schools through cultural heritage
-To develop pupils’ skills researching, literacy, digital skills, and cross-curricular skills: critical thinking, collaboration, initiative, and communication.
-To update and strengthen the professional competences of teachers regarding methodologies, dynamics and activities regarding art, art history, foreign language, and Ict, developing their knowledge and skills in the design and organization of activities.
-To share day to day life and find similarities and differences in their culture
-To increase students’ creativity by the activities and workshops held during the project
-To promote teachers and students use web 2:00 tools
In our Project, Life is art; Art is life , we would like to initiate intercultural dialogue among young people14 – 18 aged from European countries and by raising awareness of the role of art, sport, history of art, drama, music, literature and Ict in communication, we aim to promote European perspective both for teachers and students. By this way, the partnership can allow people to broaden their idea of art while allowing art to broaden their idea of people and brings culture into pupils’ s everyday life. In this project, we are also planning to share our cultures through art. Each country is going to choose a national piece of art as a stimulus and send it to a random country in the partnership and then they are going to create a response( music, dance, a play, painting etc.). The students are going to create a piece of art out of their own stimulus and compare the outcomes.
During mobilities, there are going to be art festivals and the students are going to share their pieces of art in workshops in the festivals. The students are going to divided into groups from different countries to develop a creative project around a specific art form.
Our main objectives are directing students into arts and make each of them meet new cultures and increase their creativity and Ict skills. In addition, their language skill is going to be developed and group-work dynamics are going to be increased.
As a concrete visual and tangible result, we will create a photo book comprised of pieces of arts held during mobilities and a film ( a DVD )formed by each mobility’s presentations of the students.
Art-based activities,Presentations, drama technique, reviving, project teaching, observing, games, using technology and workshops, collaborative work, writing diaries, Itinerant exhibition will form the methodology of our project.
As for the European value, Pupils will benefit from developing friendships with pupils with different nationalities. Participation in the project raises our pupils’ awareness of the life of European children, through exploring and sharing day-to-day experiences, the local community in which they live, their national identity and cultural practices. By comparing the two responses to the same stimulus they will learn from and value their cultural differences that enrich Europe. This project will broaden their idea of belonging to Europe instead of belonging only to their own nation.
This project will change their idea of art by bringing it into their everyday life and by allowing students to actually create art together with students, teachers and professional artists coming from many different countries and backgrounds.
