Project Summary

Facing the problems and needs of modern European schools, we have formed an international coalition to solve the problems of our students, which are the same in Poland, Romania, Greece, Portugal and Latvia. By empowering, through numerous project activities a young person and equipping him with important life competences, shaping his attitudes, we strengthened his self-esteem, preventing frustration and aversion to school. We conducted project activities in such a way that our students, in an attractive way for them, gain knowledge about the world around them (local and international), they were able to present what is best locally to others but also get to know and appreciate partners’ resources. When carrying out the tasks, students used information technology, innovative working methods, and first of all they used English (the language of the project) for communication between partners, which increased language and digital competences. The cooperation in a group, in particularly in the project has additionally equipped our students with the ability to cooperate and plan, as well as to develop their social competences. Using the exchange of experiences, innovative solutions and good design practices of partners, teachers improved their teaching methods. The direct recipients of the project activities was a group of students (working in smaller 4 groups within the project, divided according to interests, dealing with the presentation of “treasures” of culture, history, nature, places and characters in each partner country. The project team also included teachers and project managers. Indirect recipients are other students of the school, families of our students, all teachers and the local community of all partners. International teams working in the project supervised the smooth course and timely implementation of individual tasks. They also evaluated activities and developed and implemented conclusions. Project tasks were also carried out during the mobility : students presented their products, learned about the resources of the host country, their culture, traditions, customs, nature, while shaping the attitude of tolerance, respect and understanding for other nations. Project activities were disseminated on an ongoing basis (on the Internet, in the form of leaflets or photo exhibitions). The sustainability of the project was ensured thanks to the final product “TREASURY BOX”, which we shared in an international space during short-term exchanges of groups of students. The box contains products of all partners (recordings, reports, interviews, albums, posters, postcards, presentations, props) in the national and English language versions. The “box” and its contents are the same for all partners and freely available to teachers and other interested parties. The content has been cataloged and can be borrowed from the school library. The most important products are also available on websites (eTwinning platform, Youtube) and social networks (Facebook), which can be used in school. The implementation of the project contributed to the forging of numerous friendships that will provide long-term benefits in the form of continuing project activities at local and international level. The activities will be continued through the implementation of eTwinning projects.
