Project Summary
We want to carry out this Project because we want to contribute to achieve a social and sustainable change regarding gender equality amoung our youth.
The Project arises from the need in our country to educate in equality from an early age in order to eradicate sexist violence. The methodology used, learning based on artistic projects (APBL) consists of the reflection from the assembly of an original play (#teentheatre project), called “Maicromachismos”. This play is performed by the students of Santa Pola Secondary School and aims to work on the following aspects: salary gap, co-responsibility at home, gender stereotypes, social pressure and sexist violence. The performance concludes with a debate with other students from other educational centres, which makes them think about the problem of inequality in today’s society.
The partnership with the Lycée Remi Belleau, is motivated by the need to share innovative experiences with other educational communities and was born thanks to the Job Shadowing carried out at the Lycée last October, by two of the teachers of the IES Santa Pola participating in this Project. The #teentheatre projects developed in the past years have been shared with schools of our town and province, having an excellent reception and enriching our projects thanks to the feedback that this implies. The leap of opening our Project to Europe is underpinned by the interest of internationalising our school and of making equality and social cohesion a reality at European level.
We have defined the following priorities, topics and objectives:
Priority 1: “SOCIAL INCLUSION”
Priority 2: “PROMOTE A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING”
Priority 3: ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BASIC SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCES, (especially linguistic, social and civic competences)
Topic: Gender Equality/Equal Opportunities
Objective 1: To help pupils to take a critical view of the real situation of women in Europe through artistic project-based learning.
Objective 2: To promote coexistence between the students of each school and among them.
Topic: Creativity and Culture
Objective 3: Creation and staging of an original play on equality (“Maicromachismos”) with 4º ESO students .
Topic: LEX Teaching and learning
Objective 4: To improve linguistic skills (written and especiallly oral) in foreign languages through the Project activities.
All of this will contribute to the achievement of the Europe 2020 objectives:
– Promote equality, social cohesion and European culture.
– Improve the level of key and linguistic competences.
– Enhance creativity and innovation including entrepreneurship.
The Project is made up of 8 teachers from IES Santa Pola: 3 teachers (the project developers), the Director of our school, the coordinator of equality and coexistence and the Erasmus+ Team will support the development of all the proposed activities.
At the Lycée Remi Belleau 6 teachers (3 project developers, two teachers from the Spanish department, a teacher from the history department) and the Director of the Lycée participate.
Students from both schools participate: IES Santa Pola and Lycée Rémi Belleau.
The core of the Project consists of two mobilities and different activities, namely:
– Mobility 1: Visit of IES Santa Pola to Nogent-Le-Retrou in October 2019 for a week.
– Mobility 2: Visit of the Lycée Remi Belleau to Santa Pola in March-April 2020 for a week.
– Scheduled activities at local level and/or via on-line before and after mobilities.
In short, with the full development of this Project we aim to achieve a positive impact, both social and educational, because it will not only affect the different levels of both educational communities, but also the towns of Santa Pola, Nogent and their regional environment. Likewise, broadcasting the activities through local and provincial press, television, radio, social networks and other media will help to disseminate our Project internationally and to build the spirit of equality and social cohesion in Europe.
