Project Summary

During our two year project, we want to develop our students skills in handling mistakes which is one oft he key skills in their educational and further life.
Our five primary schools in England, Germany, Italy, Greece and France will offer their children of all age groups (4-12years) different creative and child-friendly methods to motivate them to find out more about mistakes. We want them to realize that mistakes help them discover more about themselves and help them to be more tolerant with themselves. By making mistakes they will learn valuable life lessons.
We will make sure that children with specific difficulties will be included to enhance their chance for a successful school education.
We are going to start with the discovery of mistakes from the history, continue with the mistakes pupils do while they are learning and at last find out how we can avoid mistakes in the past. So we want to identify mistakes, accept mistakes and avoid them.
Each school will invent a project mascot. We will put these five mascots together like a totem to show our unity.
We are going to start with the discovery of mistakes from the past, continue with the mistakes pupils do while they are learning and at last find out how we can avoid mistakes in the future. So we want to identify mistakes, accept mistakes and avoid them.
At the beginning the children will complete a survey about their attitudes and emotional responses to making mistakes and catalogue the common mistakes they make. Each country will discover mistakes, that have been done in the past and lead to a great idea. (lap book) Then they will express one mistake in a piece of art. Afterwards children will present a mistake from the past in a roleplay.
Children will find out more about the mistakes they make in their every daily life. They will come up with ideas to prevent making these mistakes. (poster, flyer) Children will talk about accepting mistakes and reactions of others. (comic strip) At the end of this section children will discuss different methods to avoid mistakes. (cards, poster) They will invent a game. The player will go through different settings and offer different opportunities.
In the third big part of the project children will find mistakes that lead to big problems today. (environment, sugar, …) (create newspaper) Childen will use the waste and create „waste monsters“. They will discuss realistic solutions for solving these big problems. (flyers, poster,…) Experts will offer workshops about healthy life and avoiding mistakes. During our last mobility we will celebrate the project with a big event. Each school offers a workshop about healthy life. They will present what they have learned.
Direct contacts between our classes, individual children and teachers via the eTwinning portal will support language learning and intercultural education. Allowing our children to work, play, communicate and visit each other will strengthen their understanding of the everyday life of children, families and schools in other EU-countries. By taking part in transnational learning activities they will experience firsthand family life and culture by staying with host families, giving the children a real life focus and purpose for their project work. The students will get into contact with different European languages and use English as the project language for communication and presentation. These transnational activities will be intensive working time and highlights in our partnership, presenting and evaluating results and celebrating success.
For our teachers we will encourage an intensive exchange of teaching methods and styles and share good practice, especially in the fields of handling mistakes, project work, creative thinking and media use. Our teachers and children will cooperate closely, plan and carry out project work together and share its results. We will involve parents, local communities and other partners. We will make progress and results visible on our regular Project Magazine and the eTwinning portal as well as in displays and presentations at school.
Finally we will sum up our outcome and will set up guidelines and methods about how we can improve our pupils’ mistake management leading to a sustainable and high quality educational work.
