Project Summary

The project “Modern Vocational School – My Future” is the result of intention to develop a strategical partnership between schools with similar background. Both schools involved in the project provide secondary vocational education in similar fields of study. The main objective of the project is to deepen the cooperation of both vocational schools, to share experience and to look for solutions to tackle early school leaving.

The project should help the students to understand the importance of their education and improve their social and foreign language skills. The project offers 64 students the chance to join the project and to become a part of an intercultural exchange. The participants are students on secondary level aged 15 to 20. The project gives them the possibility to discuss the advantages and disadvatages of studying at vocational school and create concrete outputs (posters and a video spot). The project work gives the participants the chance to develop their competences in different spheres e.g. using of digital devices, planning, coordinating, teamwork and communication. The project is based on the combination of eTwinning activities and personal exchange. It can help them to improve their social and language skills. The personal meeting with other young people should be an occasion to discuss new ideas, share previous experience and last but not least to explore the real conditions of education in a foreign country. The project work is supported for its whole duration by an international project team constituted by the teaching staff from both schools.

The material outputs (posters and video spot) are used in the communication with students, their parents and also with wider public to show a vocational school as a modern and safe establishment. The results present a vocational school as a place where it is possible to acquire professional as well as social skills to become a respected member of society. The whole project accents European cultural and social values such as equality, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.
