Project Summary

The project “MOVING BEYOND – innovative learning tools for personal and professional development of youth” was developed in order to promote quality youth work, to foster the social inclusion and promote the empowerment of young people, mainly the marginalized ones. These aspects were clearly reflected in the project aim which was defined as: “To foster quality and multi-dimensional improvements in youth work, in order to reach and empower marginalized young people, thus supporting their transition from youth to adulthood, their integration into the labour market and the chances for social inclusion and education.”

The aim of this project was to stimulate high quality youth work among specific stakeholders and actors in the youth field in order to better enhance the competences of the youth.

The project was dedicated to the specifics of the marginalized youth. All the activities were specifically build in order to address the social inclusion of marginalized youth. With this project we have contributed to the social inclusion of marginalized youth and their empowerment. It developed innovative tools (activities, intellectual outputs, learning mobilities, etc.) that are used by youth workers in order to contribute more efficiently to the personal and professional development of marginalized youth.

OBJECTIVES
1. To increase the capacity of youth organizations in reaching out and empowering marginalised youth
2. To develop innovative effective tools and methods to be used by youth workers for Improving the access, participation and learning outcomes of those in disadvantaged groups and reducing the disparities that may arise between the results obtained by different groups
3. To enhance the competencies of youth workers to be able to use innovative tools and methods for improving the access, participation and learning outcomes of those in disadvantaged groups
4. To disseminate and multiply the project tangible and intangible results and intellectual outputs for allowing greater synergies across all fields of actions concerning youth
5. To foster the inclusion and employability of youth with fewer opportunities (including NEETs), with particular emphasis in youth at risk of marginalization

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS
– Manual – how to produce positive changes in youth
– Moving Beyond – Transformation pocketbook for youth
– Moving Beyond – Youth worker’s intervention toolkit for transforming youth
– Moving Beyond Webinars – learning for mastering youth work

The outputs have generated other results by being accessible to a large number of youth workers. They can be accessed online, on Youtube etc. In this way the project results have included users at European level (we estimate that at least 2000 more youth workers and educators have benefited from the outputs).

THE INTANGIBLE RESULTS
– 66 youth workers from Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus have developed professional competencies for working with marginalized youth.
– 660 marginalized youth will have new personal and professional competencies, thus they are more integrated socially and professionally, gaining access to new resources (economical, knowledge, information etc.)
– 300 youth workers from Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus have new professional competencies for working with marginalized youth, by attending the multipliers events. They also have access to the project results and intellectual outputs.
– 24 marginalized youth have participated in the youth exchange and they have new life skills and professional competencies and they have more chances on the labor market.
– Enforced connections and partnerships with the local partner organizations (the associated partners mentioned below in the specific section) – more than 10 organizations.

The dissemination activities of this project, reached out to key stakeholders and decision makers in local, national and European level. Our aim was to create new synergies for positive reforms in youth work. Stakeholders on local level (local institutions) and national level (national organizations) have been contacted with the intention not only to be informed about the project’s results, but most importantly, to get inspired by them and to improve the current situation in the youth sector. Such initiatives were taken in order to remind everyone that the project’s results remain available and for further use. In addition, these efforts have also contributed in the process of validation of non-formal and informal learning in each participating country, as well as the initiatives for recognition of the Youth work.
