Project Summary

Building cultural bridges across Europe in our quest to rediscover and explore cultural legacies reinforcing a sense of belonging to a common European space, is a priority to this partnership designed by partners from: Portugal, Romania, Italy, Greece and Poland. Our activities aim to promote inclusiveness in the context of migration and globalization, to foster creativity – as Europe is in need of positive, creative energies, and to create opportunities for children to celebrate, experience and enjoy the European cultural heritage.
Cultural activities will help students gain skills needed now and in the future on the labor market and thus increase their future employability. Also, for children with adjustment issues, there are countless examples where cultural activities (Arts: painting, drawing, crafts, manufacturing; Music: singing, playing musical instruments; Literature: poems, creative writing) have led to increased motivation, improved self-image and even better academic results. More than 3000 students, several schools, institutions and organizations will be involved in the project activities. Students (aged 6-14) will participate in workshops on Arts, Literature, Music, Theatre, Crafts and will interact with cultural figures (writers, artists, actors, craftsmen). Museum visits, theatre plays, festivals/fairs and exhibitions, projects and presentations will also offer them the opportunity to explore and express their national identities. We don’t want our children to be passive learners of culture. Culture has to be experienced so our aim is to involve the students directly in creating art, whether it is painting, acting, music, poetry, creative writing, dancing or crafts. These activities have great educational potential and might even leave the children with a passion for learning with lifelong effects.
Becoming good EU citizens, raised and educated in the spirit of the European values, will be achieved through theatre plays, music, literature and personal development workshops. Fighting against prejudices, violence, inequities can only be possible through education and culture: students will create short-stories and cartoons inspired by themes of interest for our project (social inclusion, bullying, refugee/migrant issues, human rights, etc); a song in the 5 languages of the project will be created by pupils to express solidarity between European partners; short films/theatre plays in which students will highlight current global issues (inequities, violence, tolerance, social inclusion, democracy) will also be designed. These kinds of activities will have a major positive impact on the development of the future EU generations.
This project is innovative by blending cultural activities with entrepreneurship. Students will also have he opportunity to learn about the basic concept of running a business through workshops on the topic, meetings with economists/bank representatives, Fairs – where they will actually put into practice what they learnt. This way, words like: business plan, marketing strategy, profit, bankruptcy will no longer be notions that only grown-ups know about. In consequence, students will become better critical thinkers and problem solvers, more independent decision makers with increased employability. At the same time, these activities will help pupils to better socialize, communicate and interact as a team, improving not only their knowledge but also encouraging integration and cooperation with their peers.
The partnership includes teaching/learning activities organized during the transnational meetings by all the participating organizations. Teachers will share experiences and good practices through a series of demo lessons (offered by the teachers of the host school) and workshops with the students (led by the foreign teachers). This way, teachers and students alike will benefit from this international exchange. All partners will share resources and teaching materials and will disseminate the experiences with their colleagues, with the purpose of introducing these new teaching methods into everyday practice ensuring thus the sustainability of the project. Running Art clubs in schools, organizing cultural events and activities involving more and more students, teachers, parents and organizations, will be the most valuable proof of this project’s success.
We aim to increase the project’s internationality by promoting and disseminating the results on a large scale on eTwinning, Erasmus+ Results Platform, Facebook pages, school websites; locally: through meetings and events (Fairs/Festivals/Exhibitions) organized in collaboration with authorities and governing bodies, major stakeholders, organizations, partner schools and parents associations; nationally: through conferences/articles/interviews/press releases.
