Project Summary

My biggest dream- better world is a strategic partnership Erasmus+ project between schools, proposed by the Trikala Music school from Greece, in collaboration with Vilnius Zemynos Gymnasium, Vilnius, Lithuania, Hüseyin Bürge Anadolu Lisesi, Turkey, Polo Liceale Statale”R. Mattioli”, Italy, State school for visual impaired children and young ,,Dimitar Vlahov, Skopje, North Macedonia, EPRALIMA_Escola Profissional do Alto Lima, C.I.P.R.L. Arcos de Valdevez , Portugal, Osnovno uchilishte “Nikola Parapunov”, Razlog, Bulgaria.
All of these schools work with students between 14-19 years old and are interested in increasing the quality of the offered education and of the managerial competences via getting involved in European projects. All of these schools are experienced with the implementation of such projects and are ready to share, apply and develop their experience in mutual activities.
Through the needs analysis completed within the partnership, we have observed that the main issue that the partners encounter is the insufficient experience in integrated approaches of the curriculum, both in the case of teachers and students; the lack of open-mindedness (in the case of some) for international cooperation and collaboration, given the need of adapting school activities to the reality of socio-economic issues, health problems or age-specific difficulties, cultural and diverse backround.
In this context, the main goal of our project is ensuring the right to quality education for all the children in the partner schools, including the disadvantaged ones, through an appealing curriculum and innovative strategies, applied by well-trained, possessing high competences, team-spirited teachers, in a non-discriminatory educational environment, which allows students to develop their social, civil, intercultural skills and encourages open-mindedness regarding European and international collaboration, improving social learning environment for better well being and motivation.
In order to achieve this goal, we will organize a series of activities that represent the piloting of a training program with integrated, interdisciplinary and cross-curricular contents, realised via formal and non-formal methods. Among these activities we specify the organization of 7 LTTA that have as main objective the training of both the teachers and the students in pursuance of implementing the training program. Also, in the interest of a quality project management, we will organize 2 Transnational Project Meeting.
The direct beneficiaries of the MY BIGGEST DREAM-BETTER WORLD project are 45 teachers and 39 students and the target group contains the teachers and students of the partner school, among which 15 teachers and 447 students are directly involved in the project’s activities. Among the involved students, 32 of them are facing extreme health problems (disabilities, visual impaired etc.), and 35 others come from socio-economically disadvantaged families.
The final products will represent the materials for a potential follow-up of the training program and they will be uploaded on the project’s site. Among these products we mention: a) literary magasin, e-learning platform, traditional dances and costumes’s e-book, project diary, illustrated dictionary, didactic materials, the Photo album and the video album of the project, four eTwinning projects. Printed forms (full or abridged, due to the partners’ needs) will be presented in Braylle, what means that all partner schools will be able to present result in their own countries to institutions working with visual-impaired students.
In regards to the impact of the project, we wish for richer curricular offerings from the partner schools that will propose a more appealing training program for the students, adapted not only to the needs of disadvantaged groups, but also to the needs of the students with disabilities, a non-discriminatory, more dynamic, more open and friendly social school environment that is more open-minded to collaborating on a school level as well as on a European level. We wish for a school environment that is ready to implement methods, strategies and new content, adapted to the students’ needs, a more quality education and a more performant management, adapted to the European and international values and strategies. All of these will lead not only to the training of the competences necessary for the students and teachers, but also to increasing their self-esteem and confidence in their own power, self-confident and motivation for gaining goals.
Long-term, we wish to introduce the training program into the curricular offerings of the partner schools and to implement a partnership project in collaboration with local community and on National level in order to achieve recognition and to improve the study program.
