Project Summary
The term cultural heritage has changed its meaning recently by the Works of UNESCO which offers that Cultural Heritage does not necessarily mean monuments, objects but it also includes traditions, expressions, experiences from our ancestors to our descendants and also this term overlapped INTANGIBLE cultural Heritage as well. However, globalization and cultural homogenisation have been threats for these intangible cultural heritage and we have to safeguard these heritages.
In this Project we have set off to raise consciousness about Intangible Cultural Heritage and how to safeguard it by transferring knowledge, skills and meaning. Well , safeguarding focuses on the processes involved in transmitting, or communicating intangible cultural heritage from generation to generation, rather than on the production of its concrete manifestations, such as a dance performance, a song, a music instrument or a craft .We have seen that it is crucial because they create a certain emotion within us, or because they make us feel as though we belong to something – a country, a tradition, a way of life which are indicators of being a good citizen along with European identity.
Through the framework of ET2020 we’ll share methodology to train Ss promoting active citizenship, creativity and innovation, including the European Team spirit. In this way we can get over the barriers such as xenophobia by building bridges among cultures because cultural diversity may sometimes be misunderstood by some groups. Indeed it is an enriching power to gather people around friendship, equity.
We’ll encourage the skills and competences of young pupils as much as active citizenship as also indicated in The Lisbon Treaty through many activities . This Project will also promote the values of freedom, inclusion, tolerance and non-discrimination underlined in the Paris Declaration of March 2015 which means, social inclusion will also be top on our agenda holding as many students around the Project as possible.
We are 6 schools , we will include as many teachers, students as possible since our topic takes everyone as the focus being an interdiscipliner area. Each month, we will have a separate activity but connected to the main theme “ Intangible Cultural Heritage”. There will be smooth transitions between activities. Almost all Ss will participate in this Project directly or indirectly/ locally or in mobility. This will strengthen peer learning, group identity among Ss dispelling bullying. With many web 2.0 activities the Ss will also improve 21st Skills as taken on the agenda among our objectives. Foreign language will be our focus and there will be fostering atmosphere for all Ss and also they will teach their own mother tongues and learn other ones. As Intangible Cultural Heritage originates in a country and adopted in that nation the Ss will better see the differences, similarities through an Erasmus Project.
Along with the Ss, we will cooperate with many groups such as parents, local people , local directorates. they will be our direct or indirect shareholders for our project events. This also among our underlined objectives. Related NGOs, museums, Universities are other crucial contacts that we will always consult to; we will visit them for some of the activities of our project. For instance we will be in cloce contact with Antropology/ Folk Culture/ Sociology/ Arts/ Social sciences/ History departments and also the clubs under the Universities will also be our shareholders such as folkdances/ ethnology/ folk music groups…etc. We have activities in our plan to cooperate with them occasionally.
We would like to end our project in its real meaning and provide a well-organized pile of Open Educational Resources to be used all the time by the interested schools, teachers, students, people, orhanizations. This project will not be restricted to these 6 schools’ own location but will be one of the best project applications to be a project model in wider environment. All the partners are willing to assist any schools during and after the project to carry out any event/ workshop/ project in our field so we will revive our project ever after in this way.
